Olden Avenue between Pennington Road and Parkside Avenue is shutdown due to a motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole with wires down. Please use alternate routes.

**UPDATE 3:30 pm 7/19/24 - Pennington Road (State Route 31) is open in both directions, however one southbound lane is still shut down**
Pennington Road (State Route 31) is closed in all directions between Olden Avenue and Somerset Street due multiple utility poles down and wires in the roadway as a result of a motor vehicle crash.
PSE&G is on scene working to restore services to the area. Repair work is expected to go on through the day.
Please avoid the area and plan an alternate route.
***UPDATE*** Repairs have been completed and the roadway is fully open.
A water main break on Olden Avenue in the area of Pennington Road, has rendered Olden Avenue impassable between Pennington Road through the intersection with Parkside Avenue. Representatives from Trenton Water Works are on site. We ask that you please avoid the area.

Yesterday, Officer Stephen Arnold was recognized at Trenton Thunder Baseball Hometown Heroes Night. Along with other first responders, Officer Arnold was honored on the field, threw the first pitch for the game against State College Spikes, and autographed baseball cards for fans. Congratulations Officer Arnold on a job well done!

MISSING PERSON: Stanley Matthews, age 60, was last seen this morning at 6:30 a.m., leaving his residence on West Upper Ferry Rd for his morning walk. Stanley has not been seen since and his cell phone is off or inoperable. Stanley was last seen wearing a blue jacket and black sweatpants and is approximately 5' 10" tall. PUBLIC NOTICE: A routine realistic military training will be conducted at the Trenton Mercer Airport. The training will consist of air and ground mobility operations. During this time, the public may hear some additional aircraft because the training will include increased rotary wing aircraft operations, some into the evening. Planning has been done by the U.S. military to minimize impact. The training will not be open to public or the media due to safety concerns.

He was dropped off at Trenton Central High School around 2:30pm this afternoon by a family member. He has not been heard from since. The Ewing Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a 13-year-old juvenile. She was last seen Monday, 6/3/2024, at approximately 6:15 P.M. in the area of Allison Avenue in Ewing. Juvenile was last seen wearing a red bonnet, pink tank top, and pink shorts, and she had a white and blue checkered backpack in her possession. Juvenile is known to frequent Brunswick Avenue in the area of the Battle Monument in Trenton, NJ. TRAFFIC ALERT: West Upper Ferry Road eastbound between Route 29 and Wilburtha Road is closed while PSE&G replaces damaged utility poles. The roadway will remain open for westbound traffic. It is anticipated the replacement will extend into the overnight hours.

Earlier today, the Ewing Police Department participated in the 2024 Ewing High School Operation Prom assisted by Ewing Twp. Fire Dept. - Station 30, Ewing Township Emergency Medical Services, and the Ewing High Theatre Department to emphasize the dangers of drinking and/or using drugs while operating a motor vehicle. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will hold ceremonies, including the 36th Annual Candlelight Vigil, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial.

Ewing- As our area experienced historic flooding on September 1st , our Officers responded to mutliple calls for service for motorists trapped in their vehicles in flood waters. During one of those responses, Officer Justin Quinlan #219 observed a female that was forced to exit her vehicle and found herself trapped in fast moving water. Officer Quinlan was able to find a way through the swift moving water to come to her aid. He was able to position himself and the female on a guard rail where they had a stable location to await rescue personnel. Officer Quinlan stayed with the female for over 20 minutes while their rescuers were responding and staging. Through a collaborative effort by Ewing Fire Stations 30, 31, and 33, both the female and Officer Quinlan were able to successfully rescued. We would like to recognize Ewing Fire Department Captain Kyle Brower and Firefighter Oscar Estrada who entered the water and executed the rescue. The initial response and rescue lasted over 40 minutes. The attached video is a short clip from Officer Quinlan’s body worn camera. Great job by Officer Quinlan and the Ewing Fire Department!!
*****Ewing Police Press Blotter***** UPDATE: ROBBERY Date: 7/07/2017 Time: 1430 hours Location: Foot Locker- 1532 Olden Ave. Narrative: Someone wearing all black and covering his face with a bandanna/shirt, entered the Foot Locker and handed a note to a store employee which said, “Don’t make this a homicide”. The employee fled the store through the rear stock room while the only customer fled through the front door. The suspect smashed both cash registers and took the cash drawer before fleeing the store. No one was harmed during the robbery. The investigation is ongoing and a video of the robbery can be seen on the department’s page. HARASSMENT Date: 7/13/2017 Time: 1000 hours Location: Scenic Dr. Narrative: Someone sent threatening messages to the victim. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF Date: 7/13/2017 Time: 1614 hours Location: Hazelhurst Ave. Narrative: The victim said someone tried to break into his house during the night but failed. The victim’s car was also damaged.

K-9 Hondo has successfully completed the Ewing Police Patrol K-9 Academy - Class #3 (16 weeks) and the New Jersey State Police Scent Academy - Class #31 (14 weeks) and is out on patrol serving the residents of Ewing. K-9 Hondo is certified in explosive detection, patrol activities, such as article and missing person searches and much more. K-9 Hondo is very sociable and loves visiting our schools and meeting everyone. K-9 Hondo has been partnered with his human partner, PO C. Morgan.
