Our SSP workers are going to be busy this holiday season, working in all sorts of weather conditions to make sure disabled motorists get the help they need. Please remember to slow down and move over when you see them assisting a fellow motorist.

NJ’s Move Over Law requires motorists to and if possible, for stopped law enforcement and emergency vehicles, as well as construction vehicles, tow trucks, and other vehicles doing work on our highways.
It’s December 1st, which means it’s officially the holidays. This holiday season, if you want to enjoy a mistletoe martini or some jingle juice, remember to call a sober friend, ride share, or taxi to get you home safely.

: Last year, we dredged 80,000 cubic yards from state channels in Manasquan to make it safer for boaters to navigate the waters. The dredged material was then used to expand the dog beach and parking lot. Thank you to our Office of Maritime Resources for delivering an outstanding job!

: The Weldon Road, Bridge over Rt 15, Emergency Superstructure Replacement Project in Jefferson, Morris County is advancing with the north side of the bridge having been demolished and currently being reconstructed. This project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2024.

🎉 Congratulations to the women of NJDOT who were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the transportation field at this year’s Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) NJ Annual Gala.
Assistant Commissioner of Local Resources and Community Development (LRCD) Laine Rankin was awarded the “Woman of the Year” award; while Capital Program Management Section Chief, Sandy Blick, and our Executive Assistant for Special Projects in the LRCD unit, Veronica Murphy, were awarded as Honorary Members.

Teach them to play it SAFE: -Stay ten feet (or five giant steps) away from the curb. -Always wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and the bus driver signals it’s ok to board. -Face forward after finding a seat on the bus. -Exit the bus after it stops and look left-right-left for cars before crossing a street.
