Over the past 25 years, more than 970 children have died of heatstroke, because they were left or became trapped in a hot car. To date, this year we've already lost 14 children. Itโ€™s important for everyone to understand these tragedies can happen to anyone โ€“ but are always preventable.

1. Never leave a child in a vehicle unattended for any length of time. Rolling windows down or parking in the shade does little to change the interior temperature of the vehicle.

2. Make it a habit to check your entire vehicle โ€” especially the back seat โ€” before locking the doors and walking away.

3. Ask your childcare provider to call if your child doesnโ€™t show up for care as expected.

4. Place a personal item like a purse or briefcase in the back seat, as another reminder to look before you lock. Write a note or place a stuffed animal in the passenger's seat to remind you that a child is in the back seat.

5. Store car keys out of a child's reach and teach children that a vehicle is not a play area.

07/17/2024

Fun Fact! July 17th marks an important occasion for tattoo enthusiasts and artists alikeโ€”it's National Tattoo Day. Tattoos have a rich history, dating back thousands of years across various cultures and civilizations.

The word "tattoo" is derived from the Polynesian word "tatau" or "tatu," which means "to mark" or "to strike." The Polynesian word found its way into the English language through the accounts of European explorers who encountered the practice of tattooing during their voyages in the Pacific Islands. National Tattoo Day provides an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and skill behind tattoo art. Talented artists dedicate their lives to perfecting this craft, using their creativity and expertise to create stunning works of art. From intricate designs to bold statements, tattoos have the power to capture emotions, memories, and personal narratives.

National Tattoo Day also serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible tattooing. Safety and hygiene are paramount in the tattoo industry, and this day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of choosing reputable tattoo studios that adhere to strict health regulations. It is essential for both tattoo enthusiasts and aspiring artists to prioritize their well-being and engage in informed decision-making.

Show us your ink and share the story behind it!
