Community Quilters provides handmade comfort items to people and organizations in need, including:
🧵 Adult and children's quilts
🧵 Wheelchair and lap quilts

We have previously donated to many organizations in our area, and we're always interested in learning about additional needs in the community.

Perhaps your organization serves:
❤️ Nursing facility residents
❤️ Children and families
❤️ People experiencing difficult circumstances
❤️ Community groups with an identified need

We can't promise to fulfill every request, but we absolutely want to hear from organizations that could benefit from donated items.

Organizations: send us a Facebook message and tell us who you serve and what you need.

And friends, please share this post so it reaches the organizations that need to see it.

Do you have a quilt top you can't finish?

Maybe life got busy. Maybe you lost interest in the project. Maybe the person who started it is no longer able to finish it.

Whatever the reason, that unfinished project doesn't have to stay tucked away in a closet.

Community Quilters accepts unfinished quilts and quilt tops that may be completed and donated to someone in need.

Depending on the project, we may be able to:
🪡 Add borders or complete the top
🪡 Add batting and backing
🪡 Quilt and bind it
🪡 Turn blocks or partial projects into something new

Your unfinished project can still become warmth, comfort and hope for someone else.

Donations can be dropped off at Heartland Quilt Supply Co., 216 S Marietta St. in Excelsior Springs, MO.

Let us help finish the story. ❤️

Finished Quilts Make a Big Difference

❤️ Yes, we accept finished quilts too!

Community Quilters gladly accepts donations of completed adult and children's quilts that are clean and ready to find a new home.

A quilt you no longer need could provide warmth, comfort and the feeling that someone cares to a person going through a difficult time.

We work to place donated quilts and other handmade comfort items with people and local organizations in need.

Have a beautiful quilt that has been sitting unused?
Consider letting it begin a new chapter with someone who will treasure it.

Donations can be dropped off at Heartland Quilt Supply Co., 216 S Marietta, Excelsior Springs, MO. Or you can make arrangements for one of to meet you at the Sewcial Space (200 S Marietta) for a drop off.

Every quilt has a story. Sometimes the next chapter is the most meaningful one.

We have had a few people ask about donating fabric and sewing items to the club to make into quilts for charity gifting.

YES! We take your clean, quilting cottons and sewing notions (including sewing machines, thread, seam rippers, batting, etc). If we can’t use it, we pay it forward to others who can use it, but we have limited space so we only keep what we need and can use.

You can always drop off any donations at the quilt shop Heartland Quilt Supply Co. or make an appointment to drop your donations off in person with us.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY DONATIONS ON THE SIDEWALK OR STREET IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING.

Another round of donated quilts went to new homes yesterday. I was so involved that I didn’t get photos so I let AI give it a go. It’s ok i guess.

The snow started to fall this morning and we hope those who get the quilts are toasty and warm!
