Last night, New Hampshire's draft constitution came home to where it was drafted, 250 years to the day from when it was written. In Exeter, the state's revolutionary capital, more than 350 people braved a cold, wintry night to view the original document and learn more about how and why it came into being.

At the American Independence Museum, we're just starting a new legacy of better understanding our stormy present by exploring our shared democratic heritage. More, much more, is yet to come.

Independence isn't something we did. It's something we do.
