A few snapshots from our tour of Limoneira yesterday with staff from the offices of U.S. Senator Adam Schiff, Senate President Pro Tempore Senator Monique Limón, Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, and Assemblymember Steve Bennett. The tour included visits to orchards and the packinghouse, along with a roundtable discussion on what it takes to get citrus from the field to consumers’ tables and the key challenges facing California citrus growers today.

Thank you to our host and all those who attended! These tours play a key role in our advocacy efforts to inform policymakers on the important role citrus plays in California.

The House Committee on Appropriations has included additional funds in the Agriculture Appropriations bill for the California-based citrus breeding program in Parlier! If approved, the program will receive an additional $500,000 annually to continue progress on the facility, which will focus on fresh-market citrus.

We had a great turnout at yesterday's Fresno County grower meeting! The meeting included lunch and an update from our Board Chair, Julia Inestroza, and our Director of Government Affairs, Jacob Villagomez.
