🇺🇸❤️ Proud to be part of this community ❤️🇺🇸

Even though the Exeter Memorial Day Parade was unfortunately canceled for tomorrow May 24th 2026 due to the weather, the spirit of Memorial Day is still alive and strong throughout Exeter.

Today, we showed our town pride in a meaningful way as wreaths and flowers were placed around town to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

We would especially like to thank Troop 45 Exeter, RI for helping place wreaths and flowers at the Exeter Town Hall. Your willingness to serve our community and help preserve the meaning behind Memorial Day is something to truly be proud of.

While we may not gather for the parade this year, moments like these remind us what matters most — community, remembrance, respect, and coming together to honor those who sacrificed so much for our freedom.

Thank you to everyone who continues to keep the spirit of Memorial Day alive in Exeter.

🇺🇸❤️ A Message From The Parade Committee ❤️🇺🇸

It is with truly heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Exeter Memorial Day Parade due to the expected weather conditions.

This decision was incredibly difficult for our committee. For months, countless hours have gone into planning this special day for our community — organizing marchers, coordinating vendors, planning ceremonies, arranging entertainment, decorating floats, preparing for America’s 250th celebration, and working hard to create a meaningful Memorial Day event for Exeter.

While we are deeply disappointed, the safety of our community will always come first.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to:
🇺🇸 Our volunteers and parade committee
🇺🇸 The veterans we proudly honor each year
🇺🇸 Our marchers, performers, and float participants
🇺🇸 Local police, fire, and emergency personnel
🇺🇸 Our amazing food vendors and small businesses
🇺🇸 Every individual, family, and business who donated or sponsored this event

Your support, generosity, and community spirit mean more than words can express.

Please know that donations made toward this year’s parade are greatly appreciated and will help us continue this beloved tradition and work toward making next year’s celebration even more special.

🇺🇸❤️ CANCELED! EXETER & WEST GREENWICH PARADES FOR 2026!

Community is what Memorial Day is all about ❤️🇺🇸

While we are heartbroken that the Exeter Memorial Day Parade was canceled due to weather Sunday, we are incredibly touched by the kindness and support from our neighboring West Greenwich community and The West Greenwich Memorial Day Parade.

We are honored to share that our neighboring town has graciously invited our parade participants, marchers, floats, veterans, and community groups to join them in marching in their Memorial Day parade on Monday. 🇺🇸

This gesture means more than words can express.

Memorial Day is not about one town, one committee, or one parade route — it is about coming together to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country. Seeing neighboring communities support one another in this way is a beautiful reminder of what community spirit truly looks like.

To all of our parade participants: if you are able, we encourage you to proudly represent Exeter and join in this special opportunity. Let’s continue the tradition of honoring, remembering, and standing together with pride.

It is with great sadness that the Exeter Memorial Day Parade (Sunday May 24th, 2026 NO RAIN DATE) has been canceled due to the forecasted weather conditions for parade day.

This decision was not made lightly, but the safety of our veterans, marchers, volunteers, vendors, emergency personnel, and community members must come first.

We sincerely thank everyone who supported this year’s parade and celebration. More information and acknowledgements will be shared soon.

One of the most meaningful moments of this year’s Exeter Memorial Day Parade will be the planting of the Liberty Tree in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. 🌳🇺🇸

As we honor the brave men and women who sacrificed for our freedoms this Memorial Day, we also have the unique opportunity to celebrate 250 years of our nation’s history, resilience, and spirit.

A tree planting is such a beautiful and symbolic way to mark this milestone. Trees stand strong through generations — growing roots, providing shelter, and serving as a lasting reminder for future generations. Long after this year’s celebration has passed, this Liberty Tree will remain as a living symbol of freedom, unity, remembrance, and community.

We hope families, children, veterans, and neighbors alike will join us for this special moment at the Exeter Library as we come together to honor the past while planting something meaningful for the future. ❤️🤍💙

Looking for the perfect spot to watch the Exeter Memorial Day Parade? Grab your lawn chairs, wave your flags, and line the route with us! ❤️🤍💙

You are welcome to park anywhere safely along the parade route on the side of the road.

🚧 Please note: Route 102 will close PROMPTLY at 12:30 PM, so be sure to arrive early and get settled into your viewing spot before the roads shut down.

🚗 Carpooling is highly encouraged to help with parking and traffic!

Once the parade wraps up, head over to the Exeter Library for an afternoon of community fun and celebration featuring:

🚨For the safety of our marchers, families, volunteers, veterans, emergency personnel, and spectators:

⚠️ FLOATS & PARTICIPANTS CANNOT LEAVE THE PARKING LOT UNTIL THE PARADE IS COMPLETELY FINISHED. ⚠️

Even if your float has completed the parade route, all participants must remain in place until the parade officially concludes and the fire trucks have passed through the route signaling the end of the parade.

🚒 Once the fire trucks pass, the roads will then reopen — but not before.

There is truly something for everyone, and we cannot wait to spend the day together honoring those who served while celebrating our amazing community.
