6/10/26 (C-Shift)

At 1755 hrs Ambulance 1 responded to Water Street for a medical aid. Minutes later, Engine 5 & Ambulance 2 were dispatched to a motorcycle accident on Kingston Road. Companies arrived on Kingston Rd to find a single motorcyclist down with multi-system trauma. Command requested a Kingston Ambulance with a Paramedic to assist with patient care. Medflight was also requested to assist due to the severity of patients condition.

While committed to these calls, 2 additional requests for medical aid came in requiring mutual aid assistance from North Hampton & Stratham ambulances.

Engine 2 and Exeter PD would respond to secure a landing zone at Brickyard Park. Ambulance 1 would later clear from the medical they were committed to and respond to the scene to assist and ultimately perform an RSI. Engine 5, Ambulance 1 & 2 would transport to the LZ for transport to a trauma center by Boston Medflight.

Good Afternoon -

On Friday, June 5th, 2026, a day with no special events or weather patterns, members of the Exeter Fire Department (D-Shift) responded to 29 calls for service during their 24 hour shift. We were staffed with 6 FF/EMTs during the day (10 hours) and 7 FF/EMTs at night (14 hours). We responded Mutual Aid 3 times to help our neighboring communities, and called for assistance 2 times because we were out of personnel. Running out of resources in town greatly increases the time it takes to get help to Exeter residents and businesses. On 9 different occasions we handled simultaneous calls, and 3 of those times we responded to 3 calls at once.

When looking at Exeter’s calls for service to similar, career departments, we would like to highlight their staffing levels and calls for service to ours for yesterday:

- Exeter, 6/7 members working; 29 calls
- Amesbury, 8 members working; 14 calls
- Hampton, 10 members working; 19 calls
- Portsmouth, 15 members working; 22 calls
- Derry, 15 members working; 11 calls
- Londonderry, 13 members working; 15 calls
- Salem, 17 members working; 19 calls
- Bedford, 10 members working; 15 calls

The numbers don’t lie and Exeter continues to grow and thus our call volume as well. Staffing truly does matter to ensure the mission of the Fire Department, “saving lives and protecting property” can be met successfully.

On Monday, May 4 at 1643 hrs, Exeter Fire Dispatch received a phone alarm reporting a building fire at 116 Robinhood Drive. At the time, 6 members were on duty - 2 of which were at the hospital after being committed to a medical aid call. Engine 5 & 2 responded with the remaining 4 members from quarters along with C2, C3 & C4. While enroute, Engine 5 had heavy smoke showing from a distance and on the orders of Captain Martin, a Box was transmitted. Auto-aid companies were also requested. Ambulance 1 would respond from the hospital.

On arrival of Engine 5 at 1646 hrs, heavy fire was showing from a small residential structure; companies would be in a defensive posture. Immediate exposures were to neighboring structures. A 1st alarm assignment was requested. Engine 2 laid a supply line from a hydrant on Linden Street to the scene (1200’). Multiple hand lines were put into operation to extinguish the fire. No injuries to occupants or fire personnel.

We extend our thanks to our mutual aid partners for their response!
