We have opened the bathroom in the old picnic area. That is the only bathroom that is open. There is a pit latrine in the old campground and one on the north side of the lake, by the gravel road.

05/19/2020

kayaking is not banned in the park-we are not doing any kayaking programs currently-due to COVID -19. Sorry for any miscommunication.

05/18/2020

Tent camping will be allowed, only in the Old campground, starting Wednesday May 20th at 5:00 PM. The only bathroom facility that will be available is the pit latrine in the west end of the old campground. The shower building and flush toilets in the picnic area will remain closed at this time.
The Old Campground is open to all campers, but tent campers and pop-ups are restricted to the Old campground. Thank you for your continued understanding.

The beach is not closed. There is a fence around the area to keep the geese from eating the grass seed that was recently planted.

05/13/2020

Camping season begins today at 5:00 pm. The bathrooms and shower facilities are closed due to COVID-19, so only campers with factory built bathrooms are allowed- no tent camping.
Please keep your campers on the gravel pads only-not the grass. Please keep rugs on the gravel pads as well.
Please stay safe and practice social distancing while in the park. Thank you for your continued understanding during this time of unusual circumstances.

Every site in Campground A is now a full sewer hook-up. The rates for all of campground A sites are $20 a night. The project was started last fall and concluded this spring.

05/10/2020

Starting on Wednesday day at 5:00 pm tents can still be used to hold a spot if they are laid flat on the pad and you pay for every night that it is there, with the intention that you are bringing a camper with a self contained bathroom to camp in. 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞. One tent can still be used for your minor dependent children as long as you also have a camper with a self contained bathroom.

The campgrounds will not be open this weekend. On Tuesday there will be meetings to discuss opening back up the campgrounds. Announcements will be made to the public shortly thereafter. The park is still open for day use, with playgrounds and restrooms remaining closed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

04/06/2020

The 2020 camping season has been postponed to after April 30th. The park remains open to day use- but the play grounds are not to be used-as ordered by the Governor of Iowa. The restrooms will not open until camping is allowed. You can still use the lake for fishing and boating and the hiking trails are open. Please practice social distancing and remain at least six feet from people not in your household. The park office is closed to the public, but you can contact the park by phone or face book messaging. Please stay safe.
