Looking for a good winter activity - want to make a birdfeeder? Feel free to share your pictures and we will post them. The birds will provide all types of color and entertainment. Check out the recipe from Crafts for Amanda -
Mason Jar Bird Feeder
Supplies
Mason jar glass with handle
Dowel rod
1 1/2 cups bird seed
1/2 package unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tablespoons corn syrup
1/4 cup boiling water
Wire
Instructions
Boil 1/4 cup of water.
Add the water to a bowl and then stir in 1/2 a package of unflavored gelatin. Mix well.
Stir in corn syrup.
Then stir in flour until everything is combined.
Add this mixture to the bird seed. Mix well. I find it easiest just to use my hands for this portion.
Stuff the mixture down inside your mason jar. Add in your dowel rod and add mixture in around the rod.
Continue until the mixture is in the jar then press down well.
Cut off a long piece of wire and then wrap both ends around the handle of the mason jar.
Hang your mason jar bird feeder anywhere in your yard where you want to attract the birds.

What a wonderful expanded opportunity to explore our amazing National Park System!
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/terrain-wheelchairs-arrive-u-parks-193633835.html

Cory Lee has visited 40 countries on seven continents, and yet the Georgia native has never explored Cloudland Canyon State Park, about 20 minutes from his home. His wheelchair was tough enough for the trip to Antarctica but not for the rugged terrain in his backyard. Lee's circumstances changed Fri...

Do you know a hero?
04/04/2022

Do you know a hero?

For the past two years, our nonprofits have lifted our community on their shoulders, caring for the most vulnerable residents in Chester County. No matter the obstacle, these organizations found ways to provide services to those who so desperately needed them in a time of crisis. Now it’s our turn to rally around them and say THANK YOU!

Join us in honoring our community heroes by sharing your story of how a Chester County nonprofit went above and beyond to support their community or made a difference to you and your family. As a small way to show our gratitude, we will be sharing these amazing stories throughout the month of April as well as donating $500 to five organizations to honor their incredible staff (selections will be chosen at random).

To honor your community hero, please fill out the form below. Deadline for submissions is April 29, 2022.

he Brandywine Riversharks Standing/Amputee Ice Hockey Club in Conjunction with USA Disabled Hockey was established in 2018 to offer people with physical disabilities an opportunity to learn and play the game in the Philadelphia region. We strongly encourage any member of our community, especially any disabled veterans who want to participate in the program.

We are in the process of joining the Iceline Quad Rinks’ Fall Instructional League starting in October 2018. The league runs for approximately twenty weeks which includes valuable practice time and 12 regular season games. Our ultimate goal as an organization is to be able to participate in the annual USA Disabled Hockey Festival that is held throughout the country. We are also looking to partner with the Philadelphia Flyers and the NHL to host a Warrior Hockey team in a game at Lincoln Financial Field a few days after the 2019 Stadium Series.

The National organization American Amputee Hockey Association is a non-profit sports organization founded in 2000 to develop opportunities for amputee and other disabled athletes to learn and play competitive hockey. The AAHA is a member of the Disabled Hockey Section of USA Hockey and is working to promote a fun and safe environment for the growth of hockey in the United States.

USA Hockey’s Warrior Hockey Discipline is dedicated to injured and disabled US Military Veterans who have served our country and play the sport of ice hockey. As one of the Disabled Hockey Section's newest disciplines, the Warrior Hockey Discipline is growing across the country. While some of the participants played hockey prior to being injured, many try it for the first time for therapeutic reasons.

Our team will feature athletes with congenital or acquired amputations or other physical impairments to enjoy the great sport of hockey. Players use prostheses to control a hockey stick or to skate, and these skills can be improved as with any other hockey skill.

Please message me if for more information.
