1756 Uwchlan Meeting House

It was sold to the Uwchlan Conservation Trust in 1976. This architectural and historical gem reflects the Quaker character of its builders.

The historic Uwchlan Meeting House was a Quaker meeting house, a hospital during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, and a school before being purchased by The Woman's Community Club of Uwchlan. At the corner of Route 113 and Village Avenue in the historic village of Lionville is the site of the 1756 Uwchlan Meeting House. Right now, we are turning to you, friends on GoFundMe, for help raising $40,000. This capital will cover the costs of a new boiler to heat the building, new windows to keep the building insulated, and new ceiling beams to keep the structure sound. The Uwchlan Meeting House still stands on its original 1756 spot, and a dedicated group of loyal supporters are determined to save what is the last surviving triad of Quaker meeting houses. This snow will melt, I promise! When it melts, members of the Uwchlan Garden Club will be digging plants from their gardens for their annual plant sale on May 9th. This is one plant sale you don't want to miss!

I'm so excited! It 's the first day of Spring and the members of the Uwchlan Garden Club are starting plans for their Plant Sale, May 10th. There will be so many happy shoppers and their children will make something special in the Kids Korner. Mark your calendars and arrive early for the best selections.

So much happy chatter this week! The Uwchlan Garden Club is working with fresh greens for their Christmas Fair. Cutting and trimming this weekend - tomorrow they start making wreaths and swags. Lots of interesting containers for arrangements and outdoor designs. I'm so excited to see it all! The fair is rain, snow, or sunshine and shoppers need to arrive early for the best selection. I hope to see all my friends here!

There is a plant sale organization meeting on my calendar. The Uwchlan Garden Club will be busy for the next 2 1/2 months planning, digging, potting, designing and decorating for their annual plant sale. I love hearing all the chatter and laughter!!! Best of all, they are raising funds for my maintenance.
