Uwchlan Ambulance Corps

Uwchlan Ambulance Corps UAC is a nonprofit. Donate online now: https://www.station87.com/donations/ This is an area of 64 square miles containing over 60,000 people.

Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (UAC) was founded in 1974 by an all-volunteer group as a not-for-profit corporation. The Corps was established using funds donated from the residential and commercial community coupled with efforts of the volunteers. The Corps’ service area covers all or parts of eight townships and part of the PA Turnpike. The Corps has grown from one ambulance handling 159 emergency calls

in 1975 to six ambulances and three responder units with 90 volunteer and career staff responding to over 4,600 emergency calls annually. We have grown to meet the needs of not only our communities but other areas as well. We strongly believe that your ambulance should be part of the community. Our equipment and staff can be seen at over 80 annual events throughout the area. Uwchlan Ambulance offers many different training opportunities. We are an approved American Heart Association training site, American Red Cross Training Site, ASHI Training Site, Pennsylvania Department of Health Continuing Education Site, and a Chester County EMS Continuing Education Site. We welcome the opportunity to assist community organizations such as local and neighboring fire companies, scouts and schools. Junior Medic day camps were established in 2004 and have trained over 500 young people in First Aid and CPR.

This morning, two UAC crews joined dozens of other emergency service agencies for a simulated active threat MCI drill in East Whiteland. The exercise was held at Great Valley High School and took months of planning between school district officials and Chester County representatives. These drills are essential in helping teachers and administrators, as well as emergency management, fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel sharpen their skills prior to a real emergency occurring. Special thank you to everyone involved in the planning and including UAC in this valuable training.

This week, we honor those law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our communities. We also thank the men and women who continue to serve along side our UAC staff everyday with courage, strength, and dedication.
