Our Summer Reading Program this year encourages children to read for pleasure all summer long, earning medals and power patches for their hard work. The program runs from June through August and is open to children of all ages.

Adult patrons can also enjoy summer reading activities - check with your local library for details on their specific program!

Come to Downingtown Library on June 13th for an outdoor program with teacher and local musician Damien Drago, who will bring the American Revolution to life with "Rockin' Thru the Revolution!" This program will be held OUTSIDE (weather permitting) in our gated and grassy Explorium area (bring a blanket, lawn chair, and sunscreen). This program is best suited for elementary age kids and their parents/caregivers.

🔔Bells Across Chesco!

The theme of the Easttown Library Bell is Faces and Places of Berwyn. Depictions of Anthony Wayne, Lenape Tribe, Berwyn School Fight, Battle of Paoli, and others are featured.

🔔Bells Across Chesco!

During the 18th century, Downingtown was known as Milltown, home of a water corn mill offering milling services for local farmers and the frontier homesteaders to the west. The Downingtown Library bell was carefully painted like water and decorated with corn and ducks, celebrating the past and including their beloved library duck theme!

All of the Libraries in the Chester County Library System will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

For additional weekend closures, please check with your local library in the system as this will vary from location to location.

Join Miss Rebecca for a FUN DROP-IN Saturday Storytime at the Downingtown Library! All ages are invited to attend, but the storytime is geared toward ages 0-6. This storytime will be held outside in our Explorium (weather permitting). No registration required! Bring a blanket, lawn chair, and sunscreen!
