Most Recent Updates as of October 19, 2026

GENERAL INFO AND THANK YOU!
- Special THANK YOU to the Factoryville Women's Civic League. Those beautiful flowers in town are the work of these women! They carefully adopt a location, plant the flowers, and water them faithfully throughout the spring, summer, and fall! Also, have you noticed the awesome LT and lion decorations on the fence by the elementary school?! That was them! It's a great addition!
- PAVING: We do not have a date for the paving to be finished. The ADA sidewalks need to be re-engineered so the Borough does not lose additional parking spaces. Once that is complete, if weather/temperature permits, paving will continue.

Regular monthly events:
1. First Friday (of each month) Bluegrass at 1st Baptist. 1-4pm
2. Wednesday Night Bingo @ the fire hall! Games start at 6pm; doors open at 5pm!
3. Food Share Friday is on the 3rd Friday of each month at Factoryville UMC from 2-4pm. Next one will be November 20th.

Other Important Updates:
- Factoryville Fire Co. Station 9 is holding regular raffles to support their services! Be sure to check their page and get involved. Donations are ALWAYS welcome! Get ready for their THANKSGIVING PIZZA sale. You're already stressed about the big dinner; buy the pizza and save yourself the stress of figuring out what to eat the day before! And cold pizza makes a good breakfast to chew on while cooking!
- Trunk or Treat and Haunted Hallways will be at Lackawanna Trail High School this year on October 24th! Trunk or Treat is 4-9pm and is free. Haunted Hallways are 6-9pm and cost is $3 for students and $5 for all others!
- Trick or Treating is Halloween night from 6-8pm. There will be additional patrols to help keep everyone safe and to deter any mischief in the Borough.
- Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Association is holding their FOOD TRUCK FUNDRAISER. Stop by October 19th-24th at their station (195 Bridge Street Tunkhannock) for lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert, etc.

🚧 Important Notice – Christy Mathewson Park Access 🚧

Please be advised that the entrance to Christy Mathewson Park at Jackson Street/Riverside Drive is restricted to authorized vehicles only.

This area was not intended for public vehicle access or parking, except for handicap parking. Due to increasing vehicle traffic in this section of the park, it has created potential safety hazards for residents, families, students, athletes, and others who use the park for recreation or as a walking route to the elementary school.

Visitors are still welcome to access the park by walking through the gated entrance. Those driving are asked to park at Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center and use the ADA accessible bridge to enter the park from there.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to keep Christy Mathewson Park safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
