To our Factoryville community, we want to share an important update regarding our beloved Hometown Hero banners with a heavy but caring heart.

Due to the extensive road construction starting across the borough over the next few weeks, Council has made the difficult decision to delay hanging the banners until all road work is complete.

Our primary goal is to protect these precious tributes and ensure their longevity. Heavy construction brings dust, debris, and a high risk of accidental damage. We want to ensure that when your loved ones are displayed, they receive the pristine and beautiful presentation they truly deserve.

We deeply understand that Memorial Day is a sacred time to honor the immense sacrifices our service men and women have made for our country. Please know that this delay in no way diminishes our profound gratitude for them. We value each and every one of our heroes, and we are keeping their spirits close to our hearts this holiday and every day.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our town safe and our heroes' memories preserved. We look forward to proudly displaying them across a newly paved Factoryville very soon.

As a reminder, our Memorial Day service will be held 10am Monday, May 25th at the Cemetery. This year the 340 veterans buried at the cemetery will be honored.

Borough offices will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

We are extremely disappointed by the ongoing lack of respect being shown at Christy Mathewson Park.

Recently, visitors have witnessed dangerous behavior, including children throwing rocks at the covered bridge—and at other people. This is not only unacceptable, but it creates a serious safety hazard that could result in injury or significant property damage.
In addition, garbage is being left throughout the park. Littering and neglect of this shared space is unfair to the many residents who take pride in our community.

Please remember: this park is maintained with taxpayer dollars. It belongs to all of us, and it should be treated with care and respect.
We are asking all parents, guardians, and visitors to:

Supervise children at all times
Immediately stop dangerous behavior
Properly dispose of all trash
Do not drive/park on the trails throughout the park

If these issues continue, the Borough will have no choice but to consider increased enforcement measures.

Let’s work together to keep Christy Mathewson Park safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

Memorial Day Service!

The service is scheduled for May 25th at 10:00am in the cemetery. Once again, there will be a minister. LTHS band will play, and the Boy Scouts will assist.

As a special event this year, the 340 veterans buried at the cemetery will be honored. There are 3 from the Revolutionary War, 2 from the War of 1812, 115 from the Civil War, 6 from the Spanish American War, 60 from WWI, 110 from WWII, 24 from the Korean War, 19 from the Vietnam War, and 1 from the Persian Golf War!

Thank you to Mayor Lou Jasikoff, Former Mayor Gary Evans, John Litwin, and the community members for making all of this possible!
