On 8-19-2026 Fair Haven Police arrested Luke A. Bartley, Age 28, of Poultney, VT after stopping him for a motor vehicle violation. On 8-19-2026 at 4:15 pm Police stopped Bartley for speeding on S. Main St. Upon interview Police learned Bartley was under criminal suspension to operate a motor vehicle. Bartley was arrested and released to appear in Rutland District Court on a later date.

Received a Stalker in car radar valued at 1900.00 and a Pole Mounted speed sign valued at 3900.00 using grant funds from the Governor’s Highways Safety Program. These items are made possible by our agency’s continued dedication and participate in the Highway safety programs.

Officers also assisted the Governors Highway safety program at the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex staffing the educational booth and presenting safety demonstrations. This time was also funded by the program.

Nature of Offense: Citizen Dispute

On 8-25-2026 Fair Haven Police arrested Charles J. Delaney Jr., Age 44, of Fair Haven, VT following an investigation into a citizen dispute. On 8-23-2026 Police were called to Green Mountain Mobile Manor a reported citizen dispute. Upon arrival Police learned Delaney had acted in a threatening and intimidating manner where the victim felt fear for their safety. Delaney was arrested and released on a citation to appear in Rutland District Court.

Nature of Offense: Domestic Dispute

On 8-27-2026 Fair Haven Police arrested Lawrence V. Lamb, Age 47, of Fair Haven, VT following an investigation into domestic dispute. On 8-23-2026 at 1:30 pm Police were called Pine Street for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation Police learned Lamb allegedly got into a physical altercation with another household member causing injury. Police further learned Lamb also allegedly threatening the victim with a deadly weapon. Lamb was arrested and lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center.

Nature of Offense: Vandalism

On 8-22-2026 Fair Haven Police arrested David B. Woodruff, Age 67, of Fair Haven, VT following an investigation into a vandalism. On 8-22-2026 at 9:15 am Police were called to Montgiven Ave for a reported vandalism. Upon arrival Police learned Woodruff had allegedly damaged property belonging to a neighbor. Woodruff was arrested and released on a citation to appear in Rutland District Court.

Construction Update

Castleton and Fair Haven VT-4 Project

Traffic Impacts: In Fair Haven, drivers should expect shoulder and intermittent single-lane closures, as well as tight travel around the intersection of Route 4A, Dutton Avenue, and 4th Street as crews continue work on the new traffic island. Drivers should also expect traffic impacts associated with daytime paving on Prospect Street and nighttime paving along Route 4A.

Motorists should slow down, use caution, and pay attention to road signs while traveling through the work zone.

Construction Activities: In Fair Haven, crews will continue daytime work on the new traffic island at Route 4A, Dutton Avenue, and 4th Street. Top paving is anticipated on Prospect Street early next week, followed by nighttime paving along Route 4A from Route 22A and Main Street north. In Castleton, crews will install signs when the work is complete in Fair Haven.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
