Please join local law enforcement, fire and emergency services personnel in celebrating the life of Fairbanks Police Sgt. Allen Brandt. Sgt. Brandt died Friday after injuries suffered in the line of duty. Public memorial services begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Carlson Center.

The body of Sgt. Allen Brandt was taken by police motorcade Tuesday through the streets of Anchorage before a flight to Fairbanks.

Help Celebrate Fairbanks Aviation Day!

Do you have a fascination for aviation? Curious about how things work behind the scenes at the Fairbanks International Airport?

Then join us in celebrating Fairbanks Aviation Day on Saturday, May 21 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UAF's Community and Technical College Aviation Facility. The facility is located at 3504 South University Avenue on the East Ramp of the airport.

This annual celebration is hosted by the Airport Operators' Council (AOC) and features fun activities for the entire family, such as: static displays of historic and contemporary aircraft, free flights for youth ages 8-17, hands-on exhibits, a pancake feed, airport tours and much more.

You can even take a turn taxing, taking off and landing under instructions from air traffic controllers at the "Funbanks Airport," a scale model of the real runways, taxiways and float ponds in Fairbanks.

Stop by the LifeMed Alaska exhibit area to tour one of our medevac airplanes, learn more about our membership program and meet your local critical care flight teams.
