28th Military Police Detachment & 549th Military Working Dog Detachment

The 549th MWD Detachment conducted a joint training event alongside 65th Ordnance Company - EOD last week consisting of several Counter-IED scenarios.
This week long event helped teams learn the SOP’s of their counterparts so they are better equipped for real world events.
The teams also conducted a culminating event on the final day consisting of a two Soldier team search between multiple buildings and a complex tunnel system.
Great work to all involved!

A big day for the 549TH MWD Detachment last Friday!
SGT Valiant and CPL Fonseca were recognized with the Army Achievement Medal for their hard work supporting garrison operations.
MWD Max and MWD Dasty were also retired from service. Max fulfilled multiple deployments and explosive sweeps for VIPs, while Dasty supported law enforcement operations with more than a dozen narcotics finds in his career. Both MWD’s have retired home to their handlers for some much deserved relaxation after all of their hardwork!
Finally, we bid farewell to SPC Holmes after more than three years of dedication to the unit. Best wishes to SPC Holmes as he transtitions to his next duty station!
