Somebody once told me, “Ken, you should do what you do best, love people well”. Love comes in many forms and sometimes loving others is painfully difficult and hard, especially if your love is unconditional. Other times, it’s as simple as sowing the tiniest seed like this teacher. Be ready to sow seed today. You just might be amazed what happens.

Rachel and I literally work at arms length from Public and Private Health care. As Care Coordinators we interact with society’s “least of these” regularly. Elders with frail health, middle aged folks with Physical and/or intellectual disabilities like Muscular Dystrophy, Kidney disease, Heart Disease, Diabetes. Hospice patients, some of whom have fought hard and graduated not to Heaven, but OFF Hospice and working to regain their strength and health. We work with kids that have ailments that are so severe that in our industry, they are referred to as Children with Complex Medical Conditions. ALL of which are right here in the Fairbanks area -and every area around the country. They are sitting ducks in this pandemic. YOU are their defense. Now is the time to “Love you neighbor as yourself”. Now is the time to “prefer your brother over yourself”.

Bad is not a fair enough word for what the next few months will look like. This isn't hype or fear, we can literally look at what has occurred in other areas of the world where aggressive measures have been utilized (Hong Kong, Singapore, China-post initial 6 weeks are a few) and places that didn't react fast enough or severely enough (Italy 2K dead in two weeks as of an hour ago, Spain, Germany) are 3 examples of many and sadly, worst of all... what is happening in our beloved homeland, the US. Lack of testing, lack of shutdown, harsh as they may be will have a horrible result. Thats not hype. Just numbers. Not fear. This is bad. Isolate. Everyone. PLEASE REMEMBER THE GOLDEN RULE! Education and preparedness cancel fear and anxiety. Proactivity is the only defense. Reactivity is the result of complacency. Be safe, touch very little, stay away from others and wash your hands!

Please watch Dr. John Campbell on Youtube if you would like more practical, non-media hype. Right now, as we are entering into the worst of it in America. We must do ALL WE CAN to not interact with others physically - BUT INCREASE connections through tech.
