Here’s a quick reminder: outdoor warning sirens are designed for those outside and may not be heard indoors. All Fairborn and Bath Township sirens are working properly. Stay informed by signing up for Hyper‑Reach alerts: https://www.fairbornoh.gov/government/fire_department/emergency_notifications.php

🌪️ We’ve received questions following the recent statewide tornado drill and want to share some helpful reminders about outdoor warning sirens and emergency alerts.

🔊 Outdoor Warning Sirens are designed to alert people who are outside to seek shelter during severe weather. They are not meant to be heard indoors, so it’s important to have additional ways to receive warnings.

✅ The Fairborn Fire Department has confirmed that all fire department‑maintained warning sirens within the City of Fairborn and Bath Township are fully operational.

✨Daylight Saving Time Reminder!✨

When we spring forward this Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 AM, take a moment to test your smoke alarms and replace batteries in units with replaceable batteries.

Smoke alarms with non-replaceable batteries are designed to remain effective for up to 10 years. If the alarm chirps, warning that the battery is low, replace the entire smoke alarm right away.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector in your home? Now is the perfect time to test that, too! The NFPA recommends testing CO alarms at least once a month and replacing them according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Battery‑operated smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are available at no cost to Fairborn & Bath Township residents while supplies last. Please visit our website for more details about our Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector Program.

With the recent winter weather and accumulating snow, many fire hydrants have become buried or difficult to access.

Keeping a three foot radius clear around each hydrant helps ensure firefighters can work safely and efficiently during an emergency.

We appreciate all residents and businesses who have already taken the time to clear space around the hydrants throughout the community. Our fire crews will continue working to do this as well, and the support we have received from the community has improved how quickly and effectively we can ensure full access.

Thank you for helping keep Fairborn and Bath Twp. safe! ❤️
