The goal of Project FYRES is to help youth, age 18-24 find safe and affordable housing rapidly in a home & community of their choice where support systems are present & opportunities for sustainability are available.

Our project will target all youth experiencing homelessness, with an emphasis on the extra-vulnerable youth population that includes youth of color, le***an, gay, bis*xual, transgender, & questioning (LGBTQ) youth; pregnant & parenting youth; youth who have had involvement with juvenile justice & the foster care system; exploited youth; & youth victims of s*x trafficking.

BVCA follows Housing First. We believe housing is a basic human right, and no one should be denied housing based on lack of income, past rental histories, mental health, sobriety, substance abuse, treatment, non-participation, and perceived lack of “readiness”.

BVCA believes in meeting our consumers where they are, whomever they are, meaning we are not requiring them to be “ready” by our standards and preconceived notions in order to be housed.

For more information, or to apply, contact Whitney Antons, Youth Stability Case Coordinator, at 402-729-2278 ext. 125.
