What a run over Memorial Day weekend. Four shows (only three for our girls…Boone County Swine-a-Rama, Cornhusker Classic Day 1/Day 2, and the Osborne County, KS Memorial Day Spectacular) with multiple banners at each show.

It was definitely a busy and rewarding weekend, and we are so grateful for our entire show family for all of their help over these crazy days. Back at it again this weekend!

🔋Duroc Power!!🔋

We’ve always loved the red breed, and our littermate Duroc entries at the Nebraska Swine Futurity Sale/Show are far and away the best we’ve ever put together.

The sire of this litter is That Way (All the Way x Forward) bred by the great Huinker firm and standing at Shaffer's Goldrush. The sire of That Way is All the Way, The Pig Planet’s 2025 Duroc Man of the Year.

The mother of this litter is sired by Fantasy (Creation x Scuba Steve), bred by Platt Show Pigs also at Shaffers Goldrush.

Tag # 4432 is a Duroc gilt that packs a mean punch in terms of front end extension, muscle, and just monster sized legs that work the way they’re supposed to.

Tag # 4449 has always been impressive since he was in the crate. Extra stout, extra power, and extra look are the only words I can use to describe this fella.

💥It's Spot Time!!💥

We’re offering two Spot gilts at the Nebraska Swine Futurity Sale/Show this Saturday with viewing starting at 1pm and the sale starting at 3pm at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney.

We had a terrific run on the Spot side of things at the 2025 National Barrow Show winning the Champion Spot Gilt and Reserve Champion Spot Boar. These gilts, along with their brother who will also be offered at the sale, combines the father and mother of those two outstanding individuals.

These gilts are sired by Bonehead (Padded Headboard x Double Down) the Champion Spot Boar at the 2024 National Barrow Show owned by Zimmerman Hog Farms and Joy Genetics who sired our Reserve Champion Spot Boar named Hulkster who now stands at Wetovick Show Pigs. The sow of this litter is an older ZZ Top x Hip Hop sow who produced our Champion Spot Gilt.

Tag #4419 is the darker colored, short backed, big b***d, and ultra modern looking gilt who certainly has an awful lot of WOW factor. Tag #4448 is a lighter colored, heavy muscled, extended fronted, and attractive gilt who will only get better each day.

Here is Lot #2 for us at the Nebraska Swine Futurity Sale/Show being held in Kearney on Saturday, April 4th with viewing beginning at 1pm and the sale starting at 3pm.

This off-belt pure Hamp gilt is one that gets us really excited in terms of both look and pedigree. Her sire, Core Power, bred by the Cain Family, purchased by Savage Genetics, and now at Shaffer's Goldrush, has put together an impressive resume of his own. Core Power sired the recently named Champion Hamp gilt at the 2026 San Antonio Livestock Show and the Champion Hampshire boar bred by the Gibson Girls at the 2026 Southwest Type Conference. The powerful mother of this gilt originated from the Baade firm just down the road from us, and we are super excited at what the future holds for her as she gets bred for a great litter this summer.

This gilt is a powerhouse in terms of muscle, bone, front end extension, and overall look! Don't let the fact that she is an off-belt scare you away from a gilt that could make a huge run as a purebred market Hampshire or a killer breeding gilt. She has done nothing but get better each and every day. The future is bright for this one!

🔥We are pumped about the set we’re taking to Kearney for the annual Nebraska Swine Futurity Sale/Show! Come take a look at this killer group of purebreds this Saturday, April 4th, with viewing starting at 1pm and the sale starting at 3pm.🔥

We’ll be posting videos of our entries throughout the week, but I wanted to kick things off with our lead-off entry.

The Tamworth barrow we will be offering is sired by Dynasty 92-2 on “Maple” the female we showed throughout the summer last year. If you know anything about Tamworths in the show ring, you’ll know that Dynasty 92-2 at Shaffer's Goldrush, racked up win after win in 2025 at every level, topping it off being named The Pig Planet’s Tamworth Man of the Year. He has only continued that streak into 2026. On the sow side, we couldn’t have asked for a better foundation female to kick start our Tamworth herd. During her time in the show ring, Maple was a 9 time Grand Champion (both breeding and market) and a 10 time Reserve Champion (both breeding and market), Reserve Champion Overall Tamworth Breeding Gilt points on the Nebraska Swine Circuit, and concluded her impressive run being named the Reserve Champion Tamworth Breeding gilt at the Nebraska State Fair 4-H show.

This barrow has a killer look with plenty of muscle and bone to match. Take him home, work on the fundamentals, and the banners will come. This is the only pig that will be offered to the general public out of this powerhouse litter so please 👀 in!

Really excited for the 2026 Nebraska Swine Circuit! We’ve got December, January, and likely a few February litters of Hamps, Durocs, Spots, Tamworths, and Crosses available.

Everything is sold off the farm, with the Rock Barn (our over 120 year old limestone chip barn) opening at the end of February or first of March.
