Heads up

, due to base access being restricted to DoD ID card holders only, the Visitor Control Center has adopted new procedures for sponsors to request guest access through an exception to policy. DoD ID cardholders will need to follow the outlined procedures below to request access for guests onto the installation.
Hard Copy Requests:
A memorandum to request access to Fairchild AFB for visitors has been developed and is available at the Security Forces Visitor Control Center (VCC) and at all Fairchild AFB unit orderly rooms. Completed forms will be hand-carried to the VCC by the sponsor. All information requested on the form must be provided, all medical questions answered, and be signed by the sponsor. This process applies to any visitor requesting access for any reason other than official business, commercial deliveries, or to seek medical assistance. Any base access passes currently issued are valid until they expire. Once they expire, new requests will follow this procedure. Completed forms will be transported to the VCC for processing. Processing of the form may take up to 48 hours. Once the form is processed, the sponsor will be notified by VCC of the decision for access.
Virtual Requests:
A virtual request memorandum is available on the Fairchild AFB website at http://www.fairchild.af.mil/Portals/23/ETP%20Template%20v4.pdf?ver=2020-03-27-174506-923. Currently, this memorandum can only be sent between .mil addresses. The sponsor will completely fill out the memorandum and send to the VCC Org Box [email protected]. The transmission must be encrypted as it will contain personal identifiable information. All information requested on the form must be provided, all medical questions answered, and be signed by the sponsor. This process applies to any visitor or guest requesting access for any reason other than official business, commercial deliveries, or to seek medical assistance. **Real ID Act Update**

The states/territories that have an extension that expires on October 10, 2017 have been granted a short grace period from enforcement until January 22, 2018, allowing federal agencies to accept driver’s licenses from those states until that date. Oregon | Homeland Security

Just as a reminder for personnel attempting to sponsor individuals with an Oregon license. The following excerpt was taken directly from the DHS website under the Real ID Act. If there are any changes or an extension on the grace period for the Oregon driver's license, the FAFB Visitor Control Center will gladly update everyone. For more information please visit https://www.dhs.gov/real-id/oregon or contact the Visitor Control Center DSN: 247-5495 between the hours of 0600-2200.

"Oregon has been provided a grace period by DHS before REAL ID enforcement begins, allowing Federal agencies to accept driver's licenses from Oregon at Federal facilities and nuclear power plants through July 10, 2017.

Secure driver's licenses and identification documents are a vital component of a holistic national security strategy. Law enforcement must be able to rely on government-issued identification documents and know that the bearer of such a document is who he or she claims to be. REAL ID is a coordinated effort by the states and the Federal Government to improve the reliability and accuracy of state-issued identification documents, which should inhibit terrorists’ ability to evade detection by using fraudulent identification."

What is the exact address to the visitor control center? I would not find the exact address anywhere. When I check google all that it says is Fairchild AFB WA 99011 in the address box.
Hello, can you please clarify what documents are needed for service connected veterans to access base and privileges?
With disabled service connected vets being granted BX and Commissary privileges, how will base access work for these vets and their families?
My husband was injured in Afghanistan and is 60% disabled, he has a VA disability ID is he able to get on base with that? He has been told two different things which is why I ask. He was active duty for 6 years and separated honorably. If he is able to get on base with VA ID is he able to get a pass for myself and our young children to go with him?
There has been another update to the Real ID act.

The following states have been granted an extension till midnight on October 9, 2017.

Minnesota
Missouri
Oregon
