Good morning everyone! I have a very important reminder for all of you who have school age children that attend Medical Lake School District.
Your student should have brought home a sheet of paper in the last day or so, mine was yellow. This is Impact Aid paperwork. It is VERY important that this is filled out and turned back in as soon as possible!
Impact Aid helps fund a lot of things for your students and directly impacts military connected students and families in a very positive way!

Please take the 5 minutes to fill this out, it’s really vital that we get a great percentage of people completing and turning this in.

Gratitude Initiative College Success Academy Program

Gratitude Initiative provides the most comprehensive college and career counseling, admissions test prep, and financial aid counseling program available today. Our program is called the GI College Success Academy and is open to children in grades 8-12 with service and support through college graduation. The program is delivered online to support a family anywhere around the globe and is backed up by a team of live, degreed experts that work with students and parents via email, phone, or chat.

Applying for the GI College Success Academy is quick and easy and takes less than five minutes. Either a parent or a student may apply. In most cases, the parent applies on behalf of the student. I have been following the masking mandates pretty closely the past month or so and I believe that this coming 21/22 school year will not be much different then it was the middle of the 20/21 school year.
Please prepare your students to wear masks and social distance regardless of vaccination status.
I will continue to monitor and post any changes in policy.

UPDATE: The dismissal time for elementary students on Monday, June 21 is 2:25 p.m., not 2:30 p.m. as indicated on the graphic. If you have questions about dismissal times, please contact your school. Apologies for the confusion.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The last days of school are just two weeks away! Here are the dismissal times for both elementary and secondary students on June 21 and June 22.

Elementary:
- June 21: whole day of instruction (2:25 p.m.)
- June 22: early dismissal for both staff and students (11:30 a.m.)

Secondary:
- June 21: early dismissal for Group A students (high school 11 a.m. and middle school 12 p.m.)
- June 22: early dismissal for Group B students and staff (high school 11 a.m. and middle school 12 p.m.)

NOTE: By having both days be early dismissal for secondary students, we are able to ensure a parity of instructional experiences and farewell opportunities for students in hybrid instruction.

Okay everyone,
I was asked by Spokane Parks and Recreation if I would be willing to give up having the Pavilion lit on Thursday April 8th so a faimily who has a terminally ill child can have it lit up his favorite color green!
Of course I said yes!
So tonight will be the last night the Pavilion will be lit purple!
This DOES NOT impact our Month of the Military Child photograph that takes place tonight, April 7th at 7:20pm!

Hey everyone! Guess what? The Pavilion at Riverfront Park is going to be lit up Purple in recognition of Month of the Military Child! It will be lit up from April 6th to April 8th.
If you want to come down for a photo opportunity with leadership bring your family down on 7 April. Showtime on the 7th will be around 7:20pm.
If you don’t have time to get down there on the 7th send me some pictures of you and your family down there with the lights.
