We'd like to thank all teachers who cultivate a supportive and enriching environment for our youth. Many of our CASAs are teachers, and their values and benevolence contribute to great CASA work and advocacy. THANK YOU, TEACHERS!
Sending love to the many moms out there--whether they are biological moms, stepmoms, foster moms, adoptive moms, bonus moms, expecting moms or stand-in moms--Happy Mother's Day!
April 21-27 is National Crime Victims' Rights Week. This week is dedicated to crime survivors and the options and services open to them through programs and professionals with the resources to help. This year's theme "How would you help? Options, services, and hope for crime survivors" is meant to cultivate safe environments for crime victims to share their stories. Victims of child abuse and neglect come from a wide variety of backgrounds. There is no single factor- socio-economic, race, gender, location- that defines the children who enter the child welfare system. As a community, it is our job to ensure every family has access to the resources and services they need before abuse or neglect occurs.

Children thrive with consistency and predictability. Our CASAs are often the one person involved in the child's case who stays with them until they achieve permanency!

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are often referred to as the eyes and ears of the court. Judges are tasked with making important decisions for a child's future, though they seldom spend time with the child or their family. CASAs get to know the best interests of the child and make informed recommendations to the court.
