It is with deep regret that we advise you that Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department Firefighter Horace C. ("Chris") Pendergrass from Chesapeake Va. has died in the Line of Duty. Firefighter Pendergrass, a 20+ year veteran of the department and a US Army veteran, assigned to Fire Station 41 on B-Shift.

General information

Oakton Fire Station 434 is located near the center of Fairax County, VA. It primarily serves the areas of Oakton, Vienna, Fairfax and Fair Oaks, but responds to all requests for Fire Department assistance inside and outside of Fairfax County based on dispatch from the Department of Public Safety Communications Center (911). This station houses Engine 434, Medic 434, Fire Marshal Lab 401, and the staffing office of OPS406. This station has a minimum of 7 paid 24 hour staff on duty per shift from 0700-0700 daily
