Stick around anyway to learn about recycling & composting best practices! The District is created and shall exist for the purpose of providing for the efficient, economical, and environmentally sound disposal and reduction of solid waste generated by member municipalities and their residents in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties of Vermont. The NWSWD achieves this goal through services and programs

offered to member communities. The District operates facilities for the collection and recycling of solid waste. We also engage in public education aimed at recycling and reducing the volume of solid waste. The District also engages in innovative projects for the purpose of recycling and disposing of unique waste in an environmentally sound manner.

It's World Bicycle Day! 🚲 Vermont has a thriving bike culture, and that means we receive lots of them at our drop-off sites. If they're in decent shape, we either stick them in our Treasure Chest or send them to local reuse partners, like Old Spokes Home and H4H ReStore. ☀️ Most bikes live to ride another day!

Help us name this area! If you've visited Georgia Recycling Center, you may have been directed to this little enclosure. It's where we direct customers with textiles, plastic film, bulbs, batteries, and hardcover books. Our resident nerds have suggested "batcave" or "fortress of solitude." What do you think it should be called?
