As we move from a warm, but still sometimes snowy, winter to a roller coaster of a spring, the Providence Democrats want to know: What do you think about nature in the Providence District specifically and Fairfax County more generally?
You can read about some of Fairfax's efforts to help our county's environment adapt to changing times at https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/environment-energy-coordination/ .
Have particularly good pictures of nature in the Providence District posted to your accounts? Consider tagging us in a comment!
National politics is vital. As we go into a new national election season, we're curious, do you feel connected to your local government? Local government can often feel invisible (until someone has a problem). Today, we encourage you to think about what you like about your community. How did different people in Fairfax County's government work together to help that to happen? Let's take a moment to appreciate what's going well. Feel free to comment if something leaps to mind!
Want to help make things even better? Check out our website for ways to be part of the solution at the local, state, and national levels.

Dear Providence Democrats
Election day is fast approaching. Our most important task is upon us. Getting the Democratic sample ballot to every voter. As you know, twelve of the fourteen positions on the ballot, such as supervisor, school board member and county clerk are not identified by party. We rely on distributing the Democratic sample ballot to tell voters who are the Democratic endorsed candidates. We need volunteers to get the sample ballots into the hands of voters as they enter their polling locations.
We need help for at Mantua precinct which votes at First Circle Church.
Please use one of link below to sign up for a two-hour shift at Merrifield, a critical precinct.

If you would be willing to work at another voting location in Providence, please contact me.
I cannot emphasize how important this is. Sample ballots will make the difference between victory and defeat in Providence
Make sure Democrats get out the vote in 20223 by volunteering. Please watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akXSgIk46jw Contact SJ Brady at 703-200-7806 for more information or with questions

From PDDC Chair Andy Pavord--
I am excited to support Saddam Salim, our Democratic nominee for the 37th Senate District. Saddam and I served together as co chairs of the Providence District Democratic Committee from December 2020 to December 2022. He was a joy to work with. He was dedicated, smart, wise, tireless, kind and completely sincere. I am certain that he will bring these same qualities his service as our senator. He will be brilliant.
I would also like to thank Chap Petersen for his decades of dedicated service. His courage and commitment should serve as a role model to all aspiring leaders.
So let's now turn to electing all of our Democratic leaders who will be on the ballot this fall.
