The contractor for the joint Fairfax San Anselmo Slurry Seal project has provided an updated paving schedule. If there are any changes, we’ll notify the community as soon as possible.

The Town sincerely appreciates everyone's continued patience and shares your deep frustration with the ongoing delays and inadequate notifications during this Slurry Seal project. We understand how disruptive this has been.

TONIGHT: SUNDAY, AUGUST 30
The Sunday night closure on the portion of Cascade from Canyon Road to the end of Cascade is confirmed.

Folks will be able to use the road on Monday morning, but please plan for some traffic delays.

PARKING
During the work, people may park just outside the No-Parking Zone and walk to and from their homes if needed during tonight's full closure.

EMERGENCIES
In case of an emergency, work will stop immediately and vehicles will be allowed in an out of the area.

Join us for the 20th annual Fairfax town-wide picnic, a down home, family friendly event. Music, bounce house, a water slide, and other entertainment for the kids. There will be food and beverages for purchase. Come join us for this wonderful tradition in our community.

Prescribed Burn Continues Near Bon Tempe Lake Today
A prescribed burn continues at Bon Tempe Lake, near Bon Tempe Road on Mount Tamalpais.

The burn will be conducted jointly by the Marin County Fire Department and Marin Water as part of ongoing wildfire prevention and fuel reduction efforts.

What to expect:

Visible smoke may be seen in surrounding communities
Local parking lots, roads, and trails near Bon Tempe Lake may be temporarily closed

Important: If you see smoke from the designated burn area, please do not call 9-1-1 to report it.

Volunteers Needed for the Town Picnic!

We're looking for a few great helpers to make Sunday's picnic a success:

🛠️ 6–8 volunteers for setup at 10:30 am, Sunday, August 30
💧 Attendants to oversee the bounce house and water slide
🧹 Helpers for cleanup from 5:00–6:30 pm

A prescribed burn is planned for the Pine Point area on the northern side of Bon Tempe Lake, near Bon Tempe Road on Mount Tamalpais.

The burn will be conducted jointly by the Marin County Fire Department and Marin Water as part of ongoing wildfire prevention and fuel reduction efforts.
