On Saturday, ITFDC hosted a professional development workshop for providers and parents to learn more about fostering learning and supporting skill development in infants and toddlers through music and movement!

Providers and parents learned from Master Teaching Artist at Wolf Trap, Valerie Carroll, about how songs and musical experiences can be woven into children's daily schedules to encourage early learning.

Thank you to Valerie and all of our participants for your hard work to provider quality early childhood education!

In the earliest years, sharing a book is a chance for babies and toddlers to hear new words, explore the world, connect with the people who love them and build the relationships that help their brains grow. Long before a child can read the words on a page, they’re learning through every story, snuggle, point and conversation.

Inspired by her own father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read, Dolly turned a deeply personal experience into a commitment to making books more accessible to families, regardless of where they live or what they earn.

Her work is a powerful reminder that every child deserves opportunities to learn, connect and thrive from the very beginning.

This week, we would like to highlight one of our childcare providers for her dedication to nurturing, safe, and high-quality early childhood education! Candelaria B. has been a childcare provider with ITFDC for 10 years, and in her time with us, families have consistently praised her passion for childcare and strong knowledge of early childhood development.

One family stated that "We have been so lucky to have Ms. Candy in our lives. It has been a true blessing to have her loving our children, providing both expert and personal perspective on their development and needs. She is eternally patient (both with the kids and us parents!), kind, resourceful, consistent, and encouraging. We are all better people because we've had Ms. Candy."

Thank you to Candy for all of her tireless work to provide children with a strong, developmentally appropriate early education experience to assure that the children in her care will have the necessary skills to succeed in school and in life!

ITFDC Provider Gaby Ramirez will be retiring this month after working with ITFDC since 1987. We are so grateful to Gaby for her hard work and dedication to high-quality nurturing child care every day. Gaby has raised each child in her home with love and care, encouraging their imagination, curiosity, and joy.

Former families with her recall that "Gaby was a warm and loving caregiver for our child. My son still asks almost every day when we can go to visit her. Her emphasis on outdoor play and a variety of foods was great. I'm not sure what we would have done for the last three years without her."

This week, we would like to highlight one of our child care providers for her dedication to nurturing, safe, and high-quality early childhood education! Faqraz Malik has been a child care provider with ITFDC since 2009, and in her time with us, families have consistently praised her compassionate approach to childcare and strong knowledge of early childhood development.

One family stated that "We have LOVED our time with Mrs. Malik. She and her family have been a gift to our family and we consider ourselves so lucky and blessed to have found her. We will be forever grateful for the care and love she's given our children."
