🚨🚨UPDATE: The Tree has been removed and the trail is now open!🚨🚨

🌳⚠️Trail Alert: Daniels Run Trail Closure⚠️🌳

Last night’s storms brought down a tree on the Daniels Run Trail, blocking the bridge near Heritage Lane and Colony Road. For everyone’s safety, this section of the trail is temporarily closed.

Our crew will be on-site first thing tomorrow morning to clear the tree and assess any damage. We’ll share updates as soon as the area is safe to reopen.

A new lifesaving resource is now available at Draper Drive Park! ❤️

A new AED (Automated External Defibrillator) has officially been installed at the park, helping make this busy community space even safer for our residents and visitors.

In a cardiac emergency, every minute matters. Immediate CPR and use of an AED can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival from sudden cardiac arrest.

A huge THANK YOU to the Aliver Foundation for making this important addition possible and helping us create safer spaces for our community! ❤️

🌿 Looking for a short, beautiful nature walk right here in Fairfax City? Check out Ashby Pond!

The pond is absolutely gorgeous right now, with lush vegetation and plenty of wildlife to spot along the way. The loop around the pond is approximately 0.4 miles.

Keep your eyes open for:
🪶 A Great Blue Heron who has been making regular appearances
🦋 Spicebush and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterflies
🐉 Dragonflies everywhere
🐍 And maybe even a Northern Water Snake!

Ashby Pond is a little hidden gem and a great place to slow down, take a quick walk, and enjoy some nature without leaving the City.
