The government contracting industry is an important part of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia’s economy, supporting jobs, innovation, and economic growth throughout our community. Congratulations to this year’s finalists, and I look forward to celebrating their continued success.

I had the pleasure of joining fellow leaders from across Northern Virginia for the 11th Annual Regional Elected Leaders Summit. We had a great conversation about some of the biggest issues facing our communities, including housing, transportation, economic growth, and the importance of regional cooperation. The challenges we face don’t stop at jurisdictional boundaries, which is why conversations and partnerships like these are so important.

It was a pleasure to join the Skyview High School community for the ribbon cutting of this incredible new school. Skyview is a great example of Fairfax County’s continued investment in our students and schools, and I’m excited to see all that this new facility will offer students, teachers, and the surrounding community. Congratulations to everyone who helped make Skyview a reality!

WTOP recently took an inside look at Fairfax County’s ‘Paws & Read’ program, and it’s a great example of the creative ways our community supports both children and animals. The program gives kids the opportunity to practice reading and build confidence while spending time with shelter pets, who benefit from the attention and socialization as they wait to find their forever homes. It’s a simple idea that creates a meaningful experience for everyone involved. Check out the story and learn more about this wonderful program:

It was a pleasure to spend an evening celebrating National Night Out with residents across Fairfax County. I had the opportunity to visit several events throughout the county, and it was wonderful to see so many neighbors coming together with our public safety professionals and community partners. Thank you to everyone who helped organize National Night Out events across the county and to all who came out to strengthen the relationships that help keep Fairfax County safe, connected, and welcoming.
