This weather is something else! Hopefully everyone was able to enjoy the nice day. Just remember, bad folks enjoy the nice days too as they stroll through the neighborhoods overnight looking for unlocked vehicles. Lock ‘em up and make it tough for them!
Have a great evening everyone!
The big game is over (Go Seahawks-sorry it’s a habit) and hopefully you enjoyed it, the commercials, the half-time show, and the fun with family and friends.
Now, if you haven’t seen it everywhere already...do not...drink..and...drive! We and our regional partners are out and about looking for impaired drivers.

Please avoid the area of Oak Street near First Street as the fire department is working a structure fire. **Follow police direction**
A little over 10 years ago when the area was hit with back to back snow events.
Think we are in for it again this year?
Have a great start to your week everyone and have a safe morning!
Good morning everyone, yes the rain is still here and be careful, some roads in the region are not passable. The usual safety tips are in place-reduce speed, increase your following distance, lights on with wipers, etc. Don’t risk your safety to cut some time by going thru that standing water...it..is...not worth it!
Be safe this morning and have a good weekend.

Absolutely no reason to drive intoxicated with all of the transportation services and programs available ANY time of year, especially around New Years Eve. We will be out looking for those who do and just know, it isn’t worth it.
Happy New Years Eve “Eve” everyone and have a safe New Years Eve tomorrow night!
Can you help identify the below person? If so please contact PFC Crump at 571-407-0288 or [email protected]. Thank you.
It was a beautiful day today, and I hope everyone enjoyed it, as unfortunately, the rain is coming tomorrow.
As a reminder, areas of the city have experienced larcenies from unlocked vehicles (last night/this morning was the Mosby Woods Community). Please, take or hide your valuables, and lock your vehicles. We will be out and about checking the neighborhoods tonight, but if you see something, say something! Also, if you ever think you have video that may be useful from your Ring, Nest, or other type of camera, let us know.
Have a great night everyone and if you are travelling tomorrow, please drive safely to your destination!
The "2" side will be working tonight and into the morning when the "1" side, D-1, comes on duty. From our Dispatchers and Officers, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Naughty or Nice? Only Santa can decide if PFC Lawlor has been a good Motor Officer this year. I think he asked for a new motorcycle.
Out and about patrolling the neighborhoods, trying to keep the “naughty” folks away and always enjoy seeing the holiday spirit on the various streets. This one tree was just glowing an awesome blue -one of our favorite colors- and the picture doesn’t do it any justice!
Have a great morning everyone!

Yesterday, Santa and his elves have collected donated toys from local police stations, other government facilities, and eight Fairfax County Public Schools. On December 12 and 13, Santa and his helpers will deliver toys to children at INOVA Children’s Hospital Child – Life Services Center and the Georgetown Hospital Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
In preparation for this our Motor Squad did a little shopping of their own. With the help of the City of Fairfax Police Association, the members of the City of Fairfax Police Department, and Walmart on Lee highway they collected roughly $1000 of toys for the children. Thank you!
