It has been about 3 months, and not a day goes by where you aren't missed George. You, along with your 'stache, would be a reassuring presence during this pandemic. Rest in Peace Sergeant Moskowitz.

We would like to take this moment to thank our dispatch teams! They remain the calm at the other end of the line, the voice you interact with until our personnel arrive, and the lifeline to our officers!

They are essential during this time of COVID-19 and are tasked with asking extra questions, etc., to ensure we have the most information as we respond to calls.

You may not see them, but you definitely hear them! Have a safe day everyone and we are all in this together!

With it being throwback Thursday, normally people will post old pictures, witty comments, etc. However, this hero deserves to be remembered on this throwback Thursday. Hard to believe it has been 4 years. Rest in Peace Officer Guindon.

Remembering Officer Ashley M. Guindon. End of Watch: February 27, 2016.

Officers Ashley Guindon, David McKeown, and Jesse Hempen responded to a home on Lashmere Court in Woodbridge for a reported domestic altercation. Unbeknownst to the officers, the suspect had already killed his wife inside the residence. Upon making contact with the suspect at the front door, he suddenly and without warning, pulled out a firearm and opened fire, striking all three officers. Additional responding officers took the suspect into custody without further incident and immediately rendered aid to the wounded officers. All three officers were taken to an area hospital where Officer Guindon died as a result of her injuries. Officers McKeown and Hempen were critically wounded.

Officer Guindon was sworn-in the day prior to this incident on February 26, 2016. This incident was the first call Officer Guindon responded to that evening.

Officer Guindon was destined to wear the badge, but her service to her community began long before her days as an officer. She assisted the Marine Corps Mortuary Affairs Office while serving in the Reserves, worked as a pre-hire with Prince William County Police Special Victim's Unit, and volunteered extensively with the Suicide Prevention Program.

Ashley Guindon was the only daughter of Sharon Nowack Guindon and the late David Guindon.

May we never forget the brave heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice and the courage they have shown. "In valor there is hope."
