Happy EMS Week!

This week we celebrate our team of dedicated First Responders, EMTs, Advanced EMTs and Paramedics who are always there to answer the call. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication make a difference in the lives of our community members.

This year’s EMS week theme is “Improving Outcomes Together”. Our team members are always ready to learn, practice and perfect the knowledge, skills and techniques needed to ensure the best outcome possible for our patients. This team of professionals is truly amazing and takes on every challenge that is presented to them with enthusiasm!

Thank you for being here and being ready whenever the call comes out! Day or night, rain, snow, or blazing heat; you rise to the challenge. The hours spent at the station, training, and ensuring that the ambulances are ready for the next call do not go unrecognized. We appreciate you!

Fairfax Rescue is looking for a community member to join our Board of Directors. The Board is composed of a mixture of EMS and community members who are dedicated to our team and the communities that we serve.

Responsibilities include attending our Board of Directors meeting on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 pm, answering occasional emails, reviewing new member applications, providing input and guidance for our business operations and the leadership of our team.

We are looking for a community member from Fairfax, Fletcher, Georgia, or Westford with experience in business management, finances, or law to join our team.

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, often called Dispatcher Appreciation Week.

Behind every call for help is a calm, steady voice ensuring that the correct resources are sent to your emergency. Dispatchers are the unseen heroes behind every call. In emergency situations, people only see the officers, firefighters, and medics who come to their aid. Who you don't see is the person on the other end of the line who calmly makes sure the rest of us can find you and understand what your emergency is before we get to you.

Thank you dispatchers for all that you do for us! We appreciate you and want you to know that we think that you do an amazing job!

Congratulations to BA Marshall for obtaining her Paramedic License!

Becoming a paramedic is hard work! One year of classwork and studying, followed by hundreds of hours working in the Emergency Department for clinical experience, and then hundreds of hours riding in the ambulance for field experience, and lastly, the National Registry of EMTs Paramedic exam. BA has spent the last two years immersed in Paramedicine and Emergency Medical Services.
