“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
Happy MLK day 🇺🇸
Glimpses of a productive week!
Have a great weekend folks!
Yes see, touch and feel, the theme for this group! Btw great book for your toddlers to feel different surfaces. Combined that with real life experiences like touching paint, cotton, different food etc makes it fun
The Brown Stair! Montessori sensorial lesson for visual discrimination. These consist of 10 pieces and they make a stair going from “thick” to “thin”. Bringing one piece at a time and putting it back one piece at a time when done is important. They can repeat as many times as they want. Later exercises will include vocabulary words “thick” and
“ thin” with superlatives. They will also build the staining going up!
Let’s see what these two are doing!
Light and dark blue. Firstly they separate the lights and the darks. They will then line them up. Will alternate, make zigzag lines and so on. More importantly they’ll learn to focus, and absorb the sequence.
How they loved being outdoors ❤️
Afternoon games when it gets uncomfortable outdoors
They are back in their element!
Holidays are great but coming back to our routines is relaxing ☺️👍😘
Have a great weekend folks!
We welcome Mr E to the Lifeskills family! At 5 months this cutie is already enjoying the company of his buddies and is adjusting very well!

Don’t push the button!! What a fun and interactive Christmas book 🎄
This year has been unprecedented with all kinds of viral and bacterial infections. In a small operation like ours we were able to curtail infections from spreading in the past. It actually became a hallmark of Lifeskills!!
For now in the wake of these illnesses we continue to consciously and diligently practice hand washing, cleaning and sanitizing all toys and surfaces multiple times a day.
I am grateful to all parents who have been following our health guidelines and have exercised due diligence by keeping sick children home.
We hope to go past these times now and get ready to enjoy the beautiful holiday season just round the corner!!
🎄❄️🎅🏻🤶💐🙏🙏
Baby “O” turns 1 and we couldn’t be happier 🎉🎉🤩🥳🥳🎂
She is eating regular food, moving around pushing her 4 wheeler and busy babbling a ton of syllables!!
So proud of you sweetie ❤️
So busy with their hands👏👏
Very much in the holiday spirit 🎄❄️💃🏽
A few items from our menu that are served regularly!
Baby O not yet 1 is taking great strides towards independence 😘…… a goal for a Montessori teacher to see her kids achieve one after the other ❤️
Those little hands are busy making crafts for the 🎄
Cold and crisp morning! we found some icicles too❄️
These are Touch Boards 1 and 2. Touch Board 1 introduces a rough and smooth surface by going up and down and feeling the difference with their hands.
Touch Board 2 has a challenge with narrower strips of rough and smooth. The child now uses two fingers and goes up and down to feel.
Yes you guessed it !!! It is an indirect preparation for writing 📝
Our new activity that everyone is loving 🎄
Thanksgiving lunch enjoyed by all! Missed a few who couldn’t be here today 🦃
We are thankful everyday 🙏
For the breaths we take, for the life we are blessed with, for the family we share our joys and sorrows with, for the friends who fill in the void for family not present, for colleagues that help forward your mission, for parents who trust you with their kids and for the kids who bring joy into our home every day!
Getting ready for the Turkey 🦃 day!!!!
We bundled up and played outdoors, we enjoyed indoors doing our lessons, activities and craft projects. Oh and let’s not forget the yummy meals we have.
It’s been a great productive week!
Enjoy your weekend folks!
Learning through touch and feel continued!
Developing the stereognostic sense!
These are a set of 4 cylinder blocks part of the Montessori sensorial apparatus. The median age to introduce is 3 yrs. There is a direct and an indirect aim for each piece of material. Direct aim for this activity is visual discrimination and language development eg they see cylinders that are tall/short, big/small, deep/ shallow, thick/ thin.
It is the indirect aim that makes these lessons so interesting!
See the concentration, the independent work, the built in control of error, the estimation and judgement. And let me not forget the holding of the little k***s that prepare those hands for writing!

Proud of our little ones!! At 18 months they can independently eat daal and rice, oatmeal with milk cereal etc 👏😘
Dr Montessori talks about various sensitive periods in a child’s life from birth to age 6. These are milestones that stay or are gone if not tapped into or if not explored. The video clip below is a great example of the sensitive period for small objects. We as adults recognize it and provide opportunities to the child to explore it fully. Enjoy!!
Creative process starts early! These kids, some barely 18 month, start with finger painting and go on to coloring with a thick crayon and now holding a paint brush!! Art activities will help them in their writing abilities as well as understand sequencing, group activity and independence, to name a few. Have a great weekend folks!
Our Queen turned Two 👏👏👏 We have cherished each and every day to see miss E move forward and conquer challenges. She loves to draw, sing, paint, run and chase bubbles! Happy birthday sweetie 🎉🎊❤️
Not yet 1!! Love to see her pointer working rapidly ☝️ which is an important milestone at this age… a little sooner or a few months later. We recognize it and encourage it 😘😍
