Fairfield Police Cadet Post 279

The cadet program is an official program of the Fairfield Police Department for ages 14 to 21.

Recently, Cadet Lieutenant Jacob Cupole had his final meeting with the Fairfield Police Cadets as he prepares to age out of the program upon turning 21.

To celebrate the occasion, cadets honored Jacob with 21 congratulatory pushups and presented him with a commemorative plaque recognizing more than six years of dedicated service to the program.

Throughout his time as a cadet, Jacob has served as a mentor, leader, and role model to countless younger members. His commitment to the program, willingness to help others, and leadership within the cadet ranks have left a lasting impact that will continue long after his departure.

Jacob plans to pursue a career in law enforcement, and we are confident that the same dedication, professionalism, and leadership he demonstrated as a cadet will serve him well as he enters the profession.

Thank you, Jacob, for your years of service, dedication, and leadership. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors and look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.

Did you notice the shine on the cadets’ boots during the Memorial Day Parade?

A special shout out to Cadet Sergeant Connor Cooney for taking the time to teach some of our newest cadets the art of boot shining and how to get them polished enough to see their reflection. Attention to detail, pride in appearance, and helping mentor younger cadets are all important parts of the program, and Connor did a great job passing those traditions along.

Every year, the Fairfield Police Cadets play an important role in the Town of Fairfield Memorial Day Parade by serving as Division Commanders and helping organize parade participants before step off. From coordinating lineup positions to keeping the parade moving smoothly, our cadets work behind the scenes to help make this longstanding tradition possible.

This year, the cadets were also honored to be invited to assist and march alongside the American Legion, in addition to marching in their traditional position at the end of the parade route.

Their leadership, professionalism, and dedication to service are on full display throughout the morning as they assist with one of Fairfield’s most meaningful community events honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country.

The Fairfield Police Cadets have been practicing their marching for tomorrow's Memorial Day Parade. In addition to marching in the parade, they assist in organizing the parade structure, and help keep everyone on track.

The Fairfield Police Cadets would like to welcome back Cadet Captain Vincent Travali, who recently returned after completing six months of training at Fort Benning, where he graduated from United States Army Basic Training and Advanced Infantry Training.

Cadet advisors traveled to Georgia to attend Vincent’s graduation ceremony and celebrate this important milestone alongside him and his family.

As the highest ranking cadet in the program, Vincent returns with valuable leadership experience and training that he will continue to bring to the Fairfield Police Cadets. His dedication, discipline, and commitment to service have already made a positive impact on the program, and we are proud to see him continue to grow as a leader.

At his first meeting back, the ranking members of the cadet program briefed Cadet Captain Travali on everything he missed during his time away so he could seamlessly step back into his leadership role.

Cadet Captain Travali will also be leading the cadets during this year’s Memorial Day Parade.

The Fairfield Police Cadets will be holding a coin drop fundraiser at Stop & Shop on Saturday, 5/23/2026.

Funds raised will help send cadets to the Cadet Police Academy summer camp, where participants receive hands on training, leadership development, and education about careers in law enforcement.

Community members are encouraged to stop by and support the cadets as they work toward attending this unique summer program!

Fairfield Police Cadets recently assisted East Coast Tactical Medicine during training exercises designed for active EMTs and paramedics responding to emergency situations.

Cadets served as role players and victims requiring treatment in dynamic scenarios that challenged first responders to think on their feet, adapt to changing conditions, and make critical decisions under pressure. Realistic training like this helps prepare emergency personnel for the unpredictable situations they may face in the field while also giving cadets valuable insight into emergency response operations.

The Fairfield Police Cadets proudly earned 3rd Place Overall out of 36 competing teams at Stations Day 2026 against cadet programs from across the region.

Fairfield Police Cadets were proud to take part in Healthy Kids Day, helping families take an extra step toward safety and preparedness.

Cadets provided child ID kits, including at home DNA kits, and assisted with fingerprinting. These kits are designed to give parents a simple way to keep important identifying information on hand in case of an emergency.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more and take advantage of this important resource. Events like this are a great reminder that small steps can make a big difference when it matters most.

The Fairfield Police Cadet Shred Day Fundraiser is this Saturday at the Fairfield Police Department!

This event is a fundraiser for the Fairfield Police Cadet Program. The Cadets ask for a $10 per box donation, which supports training, equipment, and community service projects. The program is nonprofit and operates entirely through community donations.
This year the Cadets have partnered with Westport National Bank, a Connecticut Community Bank, N.A. who are sponsoring the fundraiser to help reduce the risk of identity theft in our community!
