Check out our news and calendar for June!
It's almost time to kick off the 2026 “Unearth a Story” Summer Reading Program! Join us for this fun and free series of activities and events for kids, teens, and adults designed to encourage summer reading and a sense of community. We’ll "dig into" books, uncover hidden histories, and absolutely see a dinosaur or two!
Starting June 17th, everyone ages 4 to 104 can get started. We’ll have different ways that age groups participate, but everyone will be able to enter into raffles for great prize packages sponsored by the Friends. Kids ages 4-12 need to sign up and set a goal; flyers and sticker charts are at the library and will also be sent home by the school next week. Teens and adults earn tickets for books read between 6/17 and 8/7. We’ll have events every week…including special ones like Marko the Magician on June 25th! See below, visit our website, and follow us on socials for updates and full program information.
We are again participating in Read & Win a Day at the Champlain Valley Fair. Between June 20 and August 15, kids who read at least three books will earn a ribbon worth a free ticket to the fair, a free book, a ride voucher, and an ice cream!
News from the Friends of BNML: “Save the date! Yes, you read that correctly. On Saturday, September 26, 2026 we are Welcoming You Back to our signature event - To Bid or Not to Bid. It took a whole community to get us to this point, Friends, Trustees, Librarian and local folks all pitched in to smooth the path to September. Looking forward to seeing you.”
Our Hearthside Handcrafters and D&D groups will pause for the summer.
We will be CLOSED on Friday, June 19th for the Juneteenth federal holiday. Our summer hours are starting…the Library will be CLOSED ON MONDAYS from June 22rd to September 7th.
