Great night for training with some of our mutual aid partners!

The fire service is built on teamwork, trust, and community. Training alongside our neighboring departments gives us the opportunity to learn from one another, build strong working relationships, and be better prepared to work together when our communities need us most.

Also a big shout out to the landowners that have made this property available for training purposes.

Thank you to the Vermont State Police, AmCare Ambulance Service. Inc, St. Albans Police Department, St. Albans Town Fire Department, Fairfield Center School and our community for making today’s 9/11 Remembrance Walk so special.

Seeing the respect and maturity of our students was incredibly moving. Many weren’t even born on 9/11, but today they helped us remember—and showed us that the lessons of that day will live on through the next generation.

We remember. We honor. We never forget.

[APRIL 23, 2026]
HIGH Fire Danger for all of Vermont today. There are special considerations for some areas of the state. From the US National Weather Service Burlington VT:
..Near Critical Fire Weather Conditions are Expected Today...

* AFFECTED AREA...Portions of northern New York and central,
northwest and southern Vermont.

* WINDS...North 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 to 30 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...50 to 60 degrees.

* FUELS...Per coordination with our partners, the recent dry
weather has caused fine dead fuels across the region to dry out.

* IMPACTS...If any fires were to start the weather and fuel
conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and
be difficult to contain.
