This free program gives residents an inside look at police operations, including patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, special units, and more. It's a great opportunity to ask questions, build relationships, and gain a better understanding of modern policing.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today, we’re giving a special shout-out to our four-legged officers here at the Fairfield Police Department: Kozmo, Ranger, and Murph! 🐕🚔

These three K-9s work hard alongside their handlers to help keep our community safe. From training and patrol work to tracking and detection, they bring skill, dedication, and plenty of energy to the job every day.

Of course, every good K-9 deserves some belly rubs and playtime too! 🦴❤️

Join us in wishing Kozmo, Ranger, and Murph a very happy National Dog Day!

UPDATE: SHE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED

🚨 HELP US IDENTIFY THIS FEMALE 🚨
The Fairfield Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a female who was brought to Mercy Hospital by Forest Park medics today at approximately 12:27 p.m.

She was found outside an apartment complex in the area of 10092 Quailwood Drive. At this time, she is struggling to remember her identity. She believes her first name may be Catherine and her middle name Anne.

If you recognize her or have any information that may help us identify her, please contact the Fairfield Police Department at 513-829-8201.

🚨 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over 🚨

An average OVI case can be 1000 times more expensive than a typical rideshare fee—not to mention the potential impact a conviction will have on your license, your job, and your insurance.

🍺If you plan to drink during a night out, plan for a sober ride home. Impaired driving puts you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk.

🚙 Designate a sober driver.
📱 Use a rideshare or taxi.
🏠 Make arrangements to stay where you are.

And remember: Buzzed driving is drunk driving. If you’re impaired, don’t get behind the wheel.

🚌 School Bus Safety: Know When to Stop

As students head back to school, it’s important to remember that when a school bus stops with its red lights flashing and a stop sign extended, you must stop at least 10 feet from the bus and remain stopped until the bus begins to move or the driver signals you to proceed.

Depending on the type of road you’re on, you may be able to continue traveling without stopping. See the included graphic for an explanation of school bus stopping laws on common road types.

⚠️Passing a stopped school bus in Ohio can result in:
• A driver’s license suspension
• A fine of up to $500
• Additional penalties depending on the circumstances and prior violations

Drivers who fail to stop for a school bus and injure a pedestrian can face serious criminal charges and civil litigation.

🛑 When the bus stops, you stop.
