This morning, Fairfield Fire crews on A Shift with our neighbors and partners at Suisun City Fire, trained on drafting and porta-pump from the Suisun City Maina to our wildland apparatus. This training is vital to prepare the crews should we not have a fire hydrant near by.

Today, we make a toast to all the hard working dads out there! To the fathers that raised us, coached us, trained us and encouraged us. To the fathers raising their families beside us. To the dads at work and the dads with the day off. Thank you for all that you do!

🚨 Community Update: New Fireworks Ordinance

The Fairfield City Council has adopted a new ordinance strengthening the City’s fireworks regulations to improve public safety, reduce fire risks, and protect neighborhoods from fireworks-related hazards.

Here is what you need to know about the new regulations:

❌ Prohibited: The ordinance prohibits the possession, sale, use, display, and discharge of all fireworks within city limits, including both “safe and sane” and dangerous fireworks.

❌ Responsibility: Property owners, tenants, and event hosts can now be held responsible for fireworks activity occurring on their property and may face administrative fines, citations, and misdemeanor charges for violations.

❌ Enforcement: To support these community safety efforts, the City will utilize Drone as First Responder (DFR) technology to help identify fireworks activity, document violations, and assist public safety personnel in responding more quickly and effectively.

These enhanced enforcement tools are intended to improve accountability, deter illegal fireworks use, and help safeguard lives, property, and the overall well-being of the Fairfield community.

Earlier this afternoon, Fairfield Fire Department Engine 39 responded to a reported vehicle fire at Pick-N-Pull.

Upon arrival, crews found multiple vehicles fully involved in fire. Strong winds quickly carried burning embers over a nearby wall, igniting a fast-moving vegetation fire.

The Fairfield CA Police Department Drone Team quickly launched a drone and was able to confirm to firefighters that the fire had spread into the adjacent field, providing critical situational awareness as crews began their attack.

The fire ultimately burned approximately 56 acres and escalated to a 3rd Alarm, bringing in firefighting resources from across the county to assist with containment.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Fairfield Fire personnel, the Fairfield Police Department, and our regional mutual aid partners, the fire was brought under control and prevented from causing even greater damage.

We appreciate the teamwork and rapid response of everyone involved in protecting our community.
