The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Ivermectin Liquid for Horses to provide short-term prevention of New World screwworm (NWS) infestations in horses. The authorization allows the product to be administered within 24 hours of birth or during initial wound care to help protect horses from this devastating pest. This action supports ongoing efforts to safeguard American agriculture and animal health as officials work to prevent the spread of New World screwworm. The authorized product is for use in horses only and is not approved for use in other species.
