👏 Huge thanks to Lead Pastor Amos Sikele and the congregation of The Vine Church for adopting a section of West Texas Street from Pennsylvania to Beck Avenue!

Their recent cleanup brought out 40 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to help keep Fairfield clean. We truly appreciate their time and effort! đź’š

Thank you, Fairfield Fire!

On August 20, Fairfield firefighters responded to a commercial fire on Dobe Lane, where multiple storage units were fully engulfed and nearby units and vegetation were threatened.

The fire was upgraded to two alarms, and crews worked quickly to contain the fire and keep damage to a minimum. No firefighter injuries were reported.

Thank you to our Fairfield firefighters for their quick response and dedicated service to our community.

Keeping Fairfield’s food community safe

From August 12 through 14, Fairfield Code Enforcement partnered with Solano County Environmental Health for late-night inspections of unpermitted food vendors.

The inspections resulted in six citations. Inspectors found six vendors selling food unsafe for public consumption, and authorities towed one vehicle for Vehicle Code violations.

Violations included missing handwashing stations, unsafe food temperatures, inadequate refrigeration, cross-contamination, and unsanitary food preparation and storage.

Over the past year, the City has provided more than 32 hours of outreach in English and Spanish to help vendors understand the permitting process and meet health and safety requirements.

Food vendors must have required county health permits, City business licenses, approved food preparation facilities, and meet fire and safety requirements.

When purchasing food from a mobile vendor, look for:

• Solano County Mobile Food Permit sticker
• City of Fairfield Permit sticker

Education comes first, but enforcement becomes necessary when unsafe practices threaten public health.

The City of Fairfield is seeking public input on a proposed amendment to the FY 2026–2027 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan.

The amendment would redirect $250,000 in existing CDBG funds to the Housing Revolving Loan Fund. This increase would support additional critical health and safety repairs for low- and moderate-income homeowners through the Homeowner Rehabilitation Program.

Public comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed amendment on Tuesday, September 15, at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place via Zoom and air through the City’s livestreaming channels.
