🔹Fairfield Welcomes Four New Police Officers 🔹

🔹Fairfield (NJ) Chief Anthony G. Manna and the officers and staff of the Fairfield Police Department are pleased to welcome four new officers to the department’s law enforcement. They are Officers Etian Rivani, Matthew Iatesta, Christopher LeMay and Brenden Muhs.

🔹All were appointed by the Mayor and Council as probationary police officers on July 10, 2025, and began attending the Essex County Police Academy that same month. On December 10, 2025, all four graduated as part of Essex County Police Academy Class #25-2. They were publicly administered their oaths of office in front of family, friends and colleagues at the December 15th meeting of the Fairfield Governing Body.
Here is a little information about our new officers:

* Officer Etian Rizvani #117- was raised in Warren County and is currently attending Centenary College in Hackettstown where he is seeking a degree in business administration. He is fluent in Albanian. Prior to being hired as a police officer, he was employed as a dispatcher with the Fairfield Police Department.

* Officer Matthew Iatesta #118- was raised in Sussex County and attended Sussex County Community College where he earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to being hired by Fairfield, he was employed as a security officer for Hackensack University Medical Center.

* Officer Christoper LeMay #119- was raised in Connecticut. He is certified in Firefight 1 and 2 and is an EMT. Prior to being hired by Fairfield, he was employed as a dispatcher with the North Caldwell Police Department.

* Officer Brenden Muhs #120- was raised in Sussex County and attended Keene State College in New Hampshire where he earned bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He was also an accomplished collegiate pitcher for his college baseball team. Prior to being hired by Fairfield, he worked in the private sector.

* These officers are now a part of a 12 week field training program and will eventually be assigned to squads in the Patrol Section upon completing this training. “The enthusiasm of new officers into our workforce always infuses positive morale to our agency and reminds all of our officers as to why we all entered this profession in the first place” said Chief Anthony G. Manna. “It is a good feeling to know that our citizens will be protected and served by another generation of dedicated and qualified officers. I wish them well.” said the chief. The present annual salary for these officers is $65,971.

* Authorized by: Chief Anthony Manna

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is a national campaign which runs between December 5, 2025 and January 1, 2026 aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.

The Fairfield Police Department’s involvement will help deter drunk driving and prevent impaired driving-related injuries and deaths during the Holiday Season, a time of year where New Jersey typically sees a spike in drunk driving crashes.

As always, we suggest you designate a sober driver or use a ride share if you plant on consuming alcohol. Stay Safe!
