SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT

🚨 SCAM ALERT – DON’T FALL FOR IT! 🚨

The Fairfield Police Department has received reports of scammers spoofing our non-emergency phone number and calling people claiming they have an outstanding warrant for their arrest. The scammers then demand money to make the warrant go away.

Let’s clear something up…

We will NEVER call you or show up at your door asking for money to take care of a warrant.

Now, we might show up at your door and ask you to take a ride with us… but we promise we won’t be asking for your credit card information.

In all seriousness, these scammers can make their calls appear to come directly from our department. Just because our phone number shows up on your caller ID doesn’t mean it’s actually us.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up, don’t provide any personal or financial information, and absolutely do not send money.

If you’re ever unsure whether a call is legitimate, contact us directly at 641-472-4146.

Please share this post and help us keep our community from falling victim to these scams.
