🎨 And the winners are... 🏆

We are so excited to announce the winners of our Draw What You Saw contest!

Following last October’s Butler County Children's Water Festival, students submitted their best artwork showcasing what they learned and their favorite memories of the event. It was amazing to see the WaterFest through their eyes!

Thank you to all the talented young artists who participated. Check out the winning masterpieces below! 👇

How many times have you used water today? ☕🚿🚰

Think about your morning so far:

Brushing your teeth 🦷

Brewing that first cup of coffee ☕

Cooking dinner for the family 🥘

Washing your hands 🧼

Those everyday routines depend on a massive system working 24/7 behind the scenes to deliver safe, reliable drinking water across our community.

Ever wonder where your tap water actually comes from? 🧐💧

For our neighbors here in Butler County, the journey is pretty incredible. It starts underground in the Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer. From there, it’s a high-tech trip to your glass:

The Source: We pump pristine groundwater from the aquifer.

The Treatment: At the facility, the water goes through a multi-step process—removing particles, adjusting chemistry, and disinfecting—to ensure it’s perfectly safe.

The Delivery: It’s stored and sent through a massive network of pipes across our community.

It’s a complex process happening 24/7 so you never have to think twice about turning on the tap! 🚰✨

Most of the work that keeps your drinking water safe happens quietly in the background, long before you turn on the faucet. It’s a team effort that never stops: 🚰

Treatment Operators running the complex purification process. ⚙️

Lab Staff meticulously collecting and analyzing samples. 🔬

Field Crews maintaining the miles of pipes, pumps, and equipment. 🛠️

Engineers planning the upgrades and improvements of tomorrow. 🏗️

It’s steady, everyday work that keeps your water safe and reliable at the tap.

This week is , an opportunity to learn about how drinking water is treated, tested and delivered, while recognizing the people responsible for keeping those systems running every day. Throughout the week, we’ll highlight the behind-the-scenes work that supports safe, reliable drinking water for our community.

Alright…can we talk about all the water “rules” floating around out there? 😄

Drink it first thing in the morning.
Don’t drink it with meals.
Only drink it at certain times…

Here’s the truth 👇

💧 There’s no perfect time to drink water. Just drink it consistently.

Morning or night? Doesn’t matter—your body just needs rehydrated after sleep
With meals? Totally fine (and actually helps digestion)
Working out? That’s when it really matters—before, during, and after

Some tips sound fancy, but your body is pretty simple when it comes to hydration.

👉 Drink when you’re thirsty
👉 Keep it steady throughout the day
👉 Don’t overcomplicate it

And honestly…we’re lucky to even have this conversation.

Clean, reliable drinking water isn’t something everyone in the world can count on—and it’s something worth protecting.

So yeah…no magic tricks here.

Just drink the water 👍
