The Fairfield Beautification Commission (FBC) is looking for a friendly, community-minded volunteer to serve as our Rose Award Coordinator.
As the Rose Award Coordinator, you will:
– Review rose award submissions from community members
– Scout and evaluate nominated locations throughout Fairfield
– Coordinate voting with the FBC committee
– Contact rose award winners to share the good news
– Help coordinate the recognition photo and award certificate, including
scheduling, photo logistics, and printing.

This is a low-commitment volunteer opportunity that makes a visible impact. Expect to spend about 2 hours per month attending the FBC meeting, plus a few additional hours as needed to support the award process.

If you’re ready to work alongside others who care about Fairfield, apply through the request to serve form: https://www.cityoffairfieldiowa.com/DocumentCenter/View/44/Request-to-serve?bidId=
Email your form to: [email protected]

Our next meeting is June 17, 2026 at the Fairfield Gold & Country Club at 5:30 p.m. Stop by and see what we’re all about!

Update: ISO one volunteer to help us maintain Heritage Courtyard on the corner of 2nd and Burlington.
Carnegie Museum, Petra Park, Main Street, and the FACC are already taken.

Soil Sisters are invited to contribute to the upkeep of downtown's perennial gardens. We seek five volunteers to dedicate one hour per week to maintenance tasks such as weeding and deadheading. Volunteers will be responsible for specific sections located in Petra Park, Heritage Courtyard, Carnegie Museum, and other nodes around the square.

Who’s as crazy about these amazing performers as I am? 🤩 The dahlias look like a sunrise in the middle when they bloom and then fade to the prettiest, soft pink. The silver foliage of the didelta glows and the white alyssum seems to sparkle. The “double grapefruit” calibracoa start out with an amazing yellow and pink variegation and then seem to ripen into a saturated pink. Wow!!

More pictures of Heritage Alley planters after they were all finished and watered in. We added 12 beautiful planters, 6 arborvitae trees, and heaps of colorful flowers and foliage. I can’t wait to see them grow fuller and brighter! Thank you again for all our wonderful volunteers. Your help makes this possible! 🌸🌻💗🌺 Please take time to enjoy our alley 💕
