🌻 FAIRFIELD, LET'S TALK NEIGHBORHOODS! 🌻

Big things are growing in our city, literally! The FBC is launching our **Neighborhood Revitalization Project**, and we want YOU to be part of it. 🤩

Here's the vision: every neighborhood in Fairfield deserves someone who's showing up for it, organizing cleanups, sparking small improvements, building community pride block by block. That's where you come in. 🙃

We're looking for:

🌱 Neighborhood Team Leads: ready to rally their street or subdivision and lead the charge (with our hands-on help, guidance, and resources so you're never alone)

🌱 Neighborhood Volunteers: ready to pitch in, show up, and help make it happen

You do NOT need experience, we got'chu! You just need to care about where you live. 🥰

Three lovely seniors are in need of assistance. One lady is in the hospital and needs some branches placed on the curb before the Fairfield brush pickup. Another elderly gentleman needs someone to assist him while he tends to a small brush fire. Another lady needs help with weeding. Please sign up at the website below to volunteer. Grab your friends and come spend the afternoon getting creative with us! Fairfield Middle School Student Council and The Country Mile are hosting a Paint Party Fundraiser where you’ll create your very own ready-to-hang door sign! 🖌️✨

🌿 Beautification Day is Coming, and YOU'RE invited! 🌿

🗓 Saturday, September 12th from 10am - 3pm

Let’s get our community looking its best for fall! 🍂🌱

Join the Fairfield Beautification Commission for a community cleanup and planting day in Central Park! Whether you have a green thumb or simply want to spend a few hours making our town a little more beautiful, we’d love to have you join us. 💚

We'll be working together to:

🌿 Clear summer debris and lingering weeds
✂️ Prune and trim perennial and woody plants
🌸 Plant new flowers and greenery
🧹 Tidy sidewalks and garden edges
🍃 Clear debris from storm drains
✨ Leave our public spaces looking fresh and beautiful for the season ahead!
🧤 We provide the tools & supplies!

We'll also have water and treats to keep our volunteers fueled and happy. 💧😊

And because we appreciate the people who help make Fairfield beautiful, every volunteer will receive a custom Fairfield Beautification T-shirt! 👕

👥 Who can participate? Everyone! This is a public community event, so bring your friends, family, neighbors, and anyone else who wants to help make Fairfield shine!

🐾 FAIRFIELD, LET’S TALK ABOUT DOG P**P. 💩

It may look like a small problem, but dog waste left in our parks, easements, rights-of-way, sidewalks, and green spaces can have a much bigger impact than you might think.

Dog f***s can contain bacteria, parasites, and other disease-causing organisms that can affect people, pets, and wildlife.

🌧️ Rain can wash contaminants into storm drains and waterways.

👧 Children playing outdoors can encounter contaminated soil.

🐕 Other dogs can be exposed while sniffing and playing.

🦌 Wildlife can come into contact with contaminated areas.

🌿 And our parks and public spaces become less clean and enjoyable for everyone.

💡The solution is easy: BAG IT. PICK IT UP. THROW IT AWAY.

If you bring your dog out, please bring a bag. And if your dog does their business, please do yours. 😉

A clean community starts with all of us.

We were extremely fortunate to work with our first volunteer tourism group from TDT CPAs and Advisors this morning. They have been serving Iowa for over 50 years. They also make a habit of including a volunteer activity when they are in town for a meeting. They spent part of their morning releasing ladybugs, tending to our downtown gardens, cleaning up dog p**p, and painting the gazebo railing. Thank you TDT for helping us keep Fairfield beautiful!
