Shout out to one of our favorite NSLs (New Student Leader), Madeline Wood! Shout out YOUR NSL in the comments. These students do so much to help first-years get adjusted to college life!

And shout out to our research librarian, Jen, who spoke to NSLs at their training last week. Jen runs our Personal Librarian Program for all first-year and transfer students which connects them with their very own research librarian, paired by FYE section. Personal Librarians send monthly newsletters and help students with anything from finding and citing sources, developing paper topics, answer answering questions about the library or university, and support with academic strategies like time management, and tips for studying note taking, and test taking.

It’s so exciting to see the faculty back on campus. Especially when they’re visiting us to check out books! 📚 Upasana Dutta, Assistant Professor of English, picked up her InterLibrary Loan (ILL) books yesterday to prep for her literature/food studies course (is there room for a librarian in the class? 🤓).

In case you don’t know , InterLibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that enables all Fairfield U students, faculty and staff, to borrow materials from other libraries. We have relationships with libraries around the country, and we all work together to ensure that our patrons get the physical and electronic resources that they need, at no cost. No more paywalls! No need to run around to other towns to pick up books that you need. Just fill out the ILL form on our library homepage and you will get a notification when your requested materials are available at the Library ( or an alert when a PDF of the article you need is available to download).

They were temporarily removed while the upper level carpeting was replaced this summer. Don’t worry-they’re back and ready to illuminate your workspace!

We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our building renovation and expansion this October, when we went from Nyselius to DiMenna-Nyselius. Save the date for October 6th to attend a special event, ‘Marking a Milestone.’

We are proud to announce that our Library recently secured a $45K grant in collaboration with Fairfield University’s Prison Education and Reentry Initiative and EMERGE Connecticut to address technology barriers for formerly incarcerated individuals.

Funded by a $45K library grant, DiMenna-Nyselius Library has collaborated with EMERGE CT to teach digital skills and provide tech access for reentry adults.
