Pardon Our Dust
Sheldon Academy of Innovative Learning was opened 1963 and was constructed as a partial school on 7.6 acres. As initially constructed, Sheldon contained 6 classrooms, a kindergarten classroom and administrative offices in a room to serve as a future classroom. The facility did not include a library, multi-purpose room or staff restrooms. Over the years, relocatable classrooms and modular buildings were added to accommodate growth in the area. A multi-purpose building and kindergarten classrooms were added with Measure C funds. In 2016, the voters of the community approved Measure J to provide facility upgrades and improvements. Approximately $32 million has been allocated to provide a new innovative library media center, replace existing portables with a new two-story classroom building, reconfigure the administrative office to accommodate a secure entrance, expansion to the kitchen/multipurpose building; new outdoor dining area, campus-wide safety and security, technology infrastructure upgrades, and associated improvements for code compliance. This project started construction in summer 2018 and is anticipated to be complete in winter 2019.
