On 7/27/18, Stephen Tacy was electrocuted and through the efforts of his son, Tyler, Fairfield Dispatchers, Fairfield Fire/EMS, Air Care and others, Stephen made a full recovery. On 10/9/18, Stephen got the chance to meet the Air Care crew that treated him and requested a 2nd flight. Air Care was gracious enough to grant Stephen his wish. On Sunday, 1/6/19, Stephen, his wife and son Tyler were given a flight on Air Care 3, which is based out of the Butler County Regional Airport. Flight Nurse/Paramedic Jennifer Hacker, who treated Stephen on 7/27/18, was on hand to explain the aircraft and what medical procedures took place during the flight. Stephen and his family were very appreciative for the flight and the chance to follow up with this great medical team.

City Manager Wendling's media interview
Fairfield’s recently-promoted Police Chief, Stephen B. Maynard, has been in the news today because of allegations of misconduct that have been fully and thoroughly investigated and considered. The allegations are mostly related to off-duty actions that took place about 15 years ago.
City Manager Mark Wendling was interviewed last week about the allegations, and the City taped that interview while it was occurring. You can watch it here. The City's written response is as follows:
Maynard was promoted from Lieutenant to Chief in February following the retirement of Chief Mike Dickey, who led the department for 19 years. During the selection and recruitment process for a new chief, City Manager Mark Wendling was informed of allegations regarding Maynard’s behavior that occurred when he was a young and immature officer with the Department.
Duckett Law Firm, LLC, was retained by Mr. Wendling on behalf of the City to conduct an independent investigation into these allegations. The investigation was conducted by Douglas E. Duckett, Esq. A report of the findings was completed in January prior to Maynard’s promotion.
The allegations are that Maynard exposed himself on two separate occasions while he was off-duty, amongst friends who were also fellow officers, none of whom were offended.
A separate allegation arose during the investigation from an officer who, in the midst of a disciplinary process about his own misconduct, said that Chief Maynard recently used a derogatory slang word for gay men toward him. That allegation was found to be lacking in credibility, though Chief Maynard did volunteer that he had used that slang term in banter with well-known colleagues in the past.
As a result of that admission, Chief Maynard sanctioned training for himself and the entire Police Department soon after he was promoted to Chief. That training program was completed in early June.
Wendling has this to say:
“Chief Maynard retains my utmost confidence and I hold stead
