Five Fairfield nonprofit programs have been approved for Connecticut’s 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act program, creating an opportunity for local businesses to support important community initiatives through the state’s tax-credit program.

It’s another example of how partnerships between Fairfield businesses and nonprofits can make a meaningful local impact.

FAIRFIELD JOINS A NEW MAIN STREET INITIATIVE

Fairfield is one of five Connecticut communities selected for the Connecticut Main Street Center’s 2026 Main Street Accelerator program.

The initiative will strengthen downtown Fairfield by increasing awareness, encouraging foot traffic, and supporting economic activity in the newly established Cultural District.

The Office of Community & Economic Development is pleased to announce its latest micro-enterprise assistance grant awarded to Clean Slate, formerly Catch a Health Habit, located at 116 Sherman Street in Fairfield.

The Micro-Enterprise Assistance Program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It is intended to provide entrepreneurs with training, technical assistance, and startup capital in order to create and sustain viable and productive small businesses in Fairfield.
