Inspired by her father, who never had the chance to learn to read or write, Dolly made early childhood literacy her lifelong mission. Through her Imagination Library, she placed more than 330 million free books directly into the hands of children under five. This week, flash floods in northern devastated communities, leaving families displaced and children at heightened risk.

Roads and bridges have been destroyed, communities have been cut off and some areas can only be reached by helicopter. Damage to phone and internet infrastructure is also making it harder for families to contact loved ones.

Save the Children is on the ground, delivering emergency supplies, including household and cooking kits, mosquito nets and blankets, to families in need. But with hundreds still missing and communities facing a long road to recovery, more support is urgently needed.

Today, our founder Eglantyne Jebb would have turned 150.

Her vision helped change the way the world sees children and their rights. And today, her legacy lives on in every child we work to help survive, learn and be protected.

Three-time Paralympian and ultra-endurance athlete Mohamed Lahna just completed an incredible 3,300-mile journey from New York to Los Angeles — swimming, cycling and running every step of the way. 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Mohamed, who attended a Save the Children supported school as a child in Morocco, crossed the finish line after raising about $176,000 for children and athletes around the world!

Congratulations, Mohamed, on this extraordinary achievement and thank you to everyone who cheered him on along the way! 💙
